A longstanding plan for the Warrensburg town government to acquire ownership of the town’s 495 streetlights from electric utility provider National Grid has been abandoned, Town Supervisor Kevin Geraghty announced at the town board’s Oct. 11 meeting. The Sun Community News reports the pending initiative to convert the streetlights from sodium vapor lamps to efficient LED fixtures will continue to be pursued.
