State Board Of Regents Votes To Ban Indigenous Names, Mascots

The New York State Board of Regents Tuesday unanimously approved changes in regulations that will prohibit public schools from using Indigenous names, mascots and logos.
New York State school districts with Native American mascots will have two years to end the use of the Indigenous imagery.
Under the regulations, school boards must commit by the end of June to eliminate the use of names and imagery.
