A series of snow events that have plagued the region in recent days has left many Glens Falls sidewalks unpassable because property owners or their tenants haven’t cleared the sidewalks of snow and ice. The Post Star reports City Code states that property owners and/or property occupants who fail to clear their sidewalks of snow and ice within 5 hours following a storm could be liable for fines of up to $250 and up to 15 days in jail. City Code Enforcement staff will be placing door hangers at properties that are in violation, asking the property owner or occupant to clear the sidewalk.
