The Port of Albany will soon be building offshore wind turbines. It’s all part of Gov. Cuomo’s plan to bring the largest offshore wind program in the country to New York. The mood at the Port of Albany Thursday morning was jubilant, with lawmakers praising the governor’s plan to bring green energy to the state and Albany. WNYT reports it’s all part of a four-part plan that will create a total of 12,400 megawatts of green energy to power six million homes and create 500 construction jobs, and 300 full-time jobs.
