A Go Fund Me page has been set up for a family of three that lost much in a house fire on April 14th in Fort Edward. On that day, smoke was seen coming from the garage of the home where Krista Rapp and her two children lived. Rapp and her two children, ages 7 and 22, lost all of their belongings.

Price Chopper and Market 32 is issuing a voluntary recall of pics brand grated cheese.
The recall is in effect for all pics grated cheese purchased since December 2022.
The cheese is being recalled because it does not meet Price Chopper Market 32 standards.
The store says there are no harmful side effects from the cheese but customers can return them to their local Price Chopper Market 32 for a full refund.

More than 200 Lake George High School juniors and seniors experienced some of the physical challenges that firefighters endure, as they participated in fire service training drills held in the school’s gym. Part of the reason for the event was to spark interest in volunteering as a firefighter — after graduation from high school or later in life. Six area fire companies — most of which respond to fires in the Lake George School District and were sponsoring the event.

Seasonal hiring for the summer tourism boom is underway right now and Lake George’s work force is reportedly bouncing back after a couple of years struggling to find workers. WRGB reports village officials say there are a number of things helping to bring new people in through hosting more job fairs at high schools and by welcoming more international workers — this coming after the U.S. increased the number of H2-b visas nationwide this year

The victim of a deadly fire in Argyle last month died from smoke inhalation. The Post-Star reports 42 year old Graham Keech died in the House Fire at 3004 Aaron’s Way. The fire started in the back southeast corner of the home.

The Lake George Community Garden Club is set to host its annual perennial plant sale as the weather gets warm and the flowers get blooming. The sale will be held at Shepard Park in the village of Lake George. On Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the annual perennial plant sale will be held at Shepard Park. The free event will feature perennial plants, all potted and ready to go. All plants are sourced from the gardens of members of the Lake George Community Garden Club.

Warren County Department of Workforce Development has worked with The Salvation Army of Glens Falls to organize a job fair in Glens Falls on May 18th. Seasonal businesses in hospitality, tourism/recreation, construction, and landscaping with at least 5 open summer jobs are encouraged to register and exhibit at this seasonal job fair on Thursday, May 18th at The Salvation Army at 37 Broad Street.

Kevin Monahan, the man accused of shooting and killing Kaylin Gillis, will be in Warren County Court Thursday. WNYT reports Gillis, 20, was riding in a car that was turning around in Monahan’s driveway in Hebron, Washington County, when Monahan allegedly shot at the car, and killed Gillis. Monahan is charged with second-degree murder.

Governor Hochul announces $3 Million in grants are now available for Urban and Community Forestry Projects.
This new grant funding will increase the health of community forests and strengthen local community forestry programs. A free web-based information session about this grant will be held on Thursday, May 4, at 10 a.m at https://meetny.webex.com. The first half will be about the grant requirements and the second half about how to navigate Grants Gateway.

One of the men accused of breaking into and stealing weapons from a gun store in Washington County pleaded guilty in court on Thursday. According to WNYT, 43 year old Jonathan Combs of Granville, stole 32 firearms from Calamity Jane’s in Kingsbury last year, and used them for drug trafficking.
