A 36-year-old man is facing DWI charges after allegedly being caught drunk behind the wheel with illegal drugs in the car.
The incident happened late last month on Route 9 in Lake George. Andrew Tustian, of Stratford, Connecticut, was stopped and was determined to be intoxicated. Troopers also discovered multiple controlled substances in the car, including LSD.
Chestertown Man Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Counts
A Chestertown man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography. WNYT reports 43 year old Peter Bratis admitted in U.S. District Court in Albany that he used a Google Drive account to store images depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct between Feb. 24, 2021 and Aug. 4, 2022. Bratis has a prior conviction for second-degree rape in Glens Falls. The victim was 15 years old.
Lake George Jazz Weekend
The Lake George Jazz Weekend, one of the premier jazz festivals in the eastern U.S., expands its scope for 2023 as kickoff concerts are to be held in more venues around Lake George Village. Sun Community News reports the renowned free jazz festival is set for Friday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 17, primarily held in Lake George’s Shepard Park amphitheater.
Public Meeting On Mill Brook Bridges Replacement
The Warren County Department of Public Works is looking for public input on plans to replace two bridges over Mill Brook in the Town of Horicon. WRGB reports the public meeting is at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Horicon Town Hall, 6604 Route 8, to outline plans for replacing the two bridges. The projects are still in design phases, and there is no timetable for the beginning of construction.
Man Pleads Guilty To Leaving Scene Of South Glens Falls Crash
A man has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a deadly crash, just as jury selection was getting underway in Saratoga County Court. WNYT reports John Lincoln Lynch hit Paul Trombley on Main Street in South Glens Falls in February 2022. Trombley died. Lincoln-Lynch agreed to a plea deal that carries one to three years in state prison. He will be sentenced on October 31.
Motorcyclist Strikes Vehicle In Queensbury
State Police responded to and now are investigating a motor vehicle accident in Queensbury on Thursday, Sept. 7 involving a vehicle being hit by a motorcyclist. Around 6 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Main Street and Big Boom Road in the Town of Queensbury. The driver of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to Glens Falls Hospital and later transferred to Albany Medical Center. Police said that a preliminary investigation determined that the driver of the motorcycle, Trevin J. Schwenk, 35, of Glens Falls, ran a red light, and hit another vehicle.

The 17-year-old Fort Ann boy accused of shooting and killing his 14-year-old friend will be prosecuted as an adult in criminal court – not family court. WNYT reports the judge’s decision spells out the legal reasons for keeping the case against a 17-year-old accused of shooting and killing 14-year-old Rycky Stark Jr. in criminal court. It’s namely that there was sufficient evidence the defendant caused significant injury and that he displayed a deadly weapon.
Man Drowns In Greater Sacandaga Lake
A man has drowned, attempting to swim to a vessel in Great Sacandaga Lake Sunday afternoon. WRGB reports the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a drowning in the lake near Mountain Stream Lane in the town of Edinburg at 12:35 PM where a 40 year old man was trying to swim to a vessel but went under and never came back up. He was recovered by SCUBA divers but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.
WWE Legend, Glens Falls Native Recovering After Surgery
WWE Hall of Fame wrestler and Glens Falls native “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan is hospitalized and recovering after being admitted to the hospital Saturday evening and undergoing emergency surgery Sunday. Duggan and his wife were visiting Glens Falls on Friday, where Duggan was honored by the city and Glens Falls mayor Bill Collins after having the day named after him.
