Siena College Poll On Whether Cuomo Should Resign

As Gov. Cuomo continues to face calls to resign for sexual harassment allegations and the nursing home controversy, a new poll shows he has support from half of the state’s voters. A Siena poll released Monday finds 50% of people surveyed say Cuomo should not resign and that he can effectively do the job as governor despite the investigations. Thirty-five percent said he should resign immediately

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events Scheduled

Warren County Department of Public Works has organized two hazardous household waste collection events for later this year. The first will occur Saturday, April 24, at the Queensbury Town Highway Garage on Bay Road, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The second will happen Saturday, July 24, at the Warren County DPW Garage on Route 9 in Warrensburg, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Antifreeze, oil-based paint, pesticides, corrosive household cleaners and fluorescent lightbulbs. Items that can not be accepted include latex paint, oil, batteries, asbestos, pharmaceuticals, tires and infectious waste.

Driver Crashes Into House

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 149 in the Town of Granville for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Reports indicated that a vehicle had crashed into a residential structure with unknown injuries. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies found a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado partially inside a residence. The driver was located outside of the vehicle and was identified as Chantel M. Noble. Noble had been traveling alone westbound on State Route 149 when her vehicle went off the roadway and hit the edge of a ditch causing her to over-correct, spin out and skid back across the roadway. The vehicle then stuck a tree before continuing and striking the residence. She told Deputies that she swerved to miss another vehicle. She was transported by Granville EMS for a complaint of neck pain. The homeowner was in a bedroom inside the residence at the time of the crash and came out to find the vehicle partially in the living room area. The homeowner was uninjured.

Warren County COVID Numbers

Warren County Health Services reported four (4) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Sunday morning, along with 16 additional recoveries.
Two (2) Warren County residents were discharged from the hospital, so two (2) are hospitalized, two (2) fewer than Saturday. One (1) is moderately ill, and one (1) is critically ill
Health Services staff are monitoring 109 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday.

Big Turnout For Warren County Vaccination Clinics

Warren County Health Services held two vaccinations clinics on Saturday — a first-dose clinic for essential workers and a second-dose clinic where 300 appointments were made.
Also on Saturday, Warren/Hamilton Counties Office for the Aging/NY Connects and Warren County Public Health also held a mass vaccination clinic for the 60-and-over population of Warren and Hamilton counties at SUNY Adirondack, sponsored by Kinney Drugs. 1,100 appointments were made.
Warren County Health Services is awaiting word on vaccine supply for next week before scheduling additional public clinics.

Warren County COVID Update

Warren County Health Services reported nine (9) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Thursday morning, along with seven (7) additional recoveries.
Four (4) Warren County residents are hospitalized, two more than Wednesday. Three (3) are moderately ill, and one (1) is critically ill
Health Services staff are monitoring 111 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday. 107 of these cases involve mild illness.

Two Lake George Advocacy Groups Combining

Lake George’s two most prominent protection groups on Thursday announced they will merge, citing growing threats to the lake’s water quality. According to the Post Star, boards from the Lake George Association and The Fund for Lake George unanimously endorsed the merger this week, citing a growing number of threats impacting the lake, including harmful algal blooms and invasive species.

DEC In-Person Hunting Education Resuming

DEC will resume holding in-person, instructor-led Hunter Education Program (HEP) courses starting April 1, 2021. DEC will continue to offer online hunter education courses, as well. In-person courses are free and taught by volunteer HEP instructors. Courses are offered in hunter, bowhunter, trapper, and waterfowl hunter education. Registration is required and all in-person courses require mandatory homework that must be completed prior to participating in the class. Massage Therapist Faces Charges

A massage therapist in Warren County is charged with sexual abuse and forcible touching. WNYT reports Paul White of Hartford worked at Body Relief Spa in Queensbury for two years. He was terminated last month after a customer complained to management about inappropriate touching. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says several other people have now made similar complaints.

Two (2) Warren County residents are hospitalized and moderately ill, unchanged from Tuesday.
