Warren County Health Services reported 13 new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning, along with 10 additional recoveries. Six (6) Warren County residents are hospitalized, two (2) more than Tuesday. All are moderately ill. Health Services staff are monitoring 141 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. 135 of these cases involve mild illness.
Vaccine Clinics In Warren County
Warren County held first-dose clinics Wednesday to administer Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine doses to the public, including some newly eligible in the 30-and-over population, and a special needs population. Additional clinics are expected this week and signup information will be shared as it is finalized.
Two Whitehall Men Charged After Traffic Stop
State Police in Granville arrested 24-year-old Jarod V. Therrien of Whitehall, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia. Troopers also charged 22-year-old Jonathan E. Jurnak of Whitehall, with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. State Police stopped Jurnak for series of traffic infractions as he traveled on State Route 4 in the town of Fort Ann at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. A probable cause search revealed that Jurnak was in possession of a clear plastic baggie containing LSD. His passenger, Jarod Therrien, was found to be in possession of approximately 14 grams of cocaine and items consistent with the weighing and packaging of controlled substances.
Woman Arrested For Falsely Reporting Incident
The Washington County Sheriff’s arrested Heidi L. Baron, age 29, of Hartford, for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the First Degree. Baron was charged after an investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police found that Baron reported that she had a bomb on Route 40 in Hartford. It was later determined that this alleged occurrence was false. Baron was processed, arraigned at Washington County Centralized Arraignment, and released pending a future court appearance in the Town of Hartford Court.

Warren County Health Services reported 27 new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday morning, along with 13 additional recoveries.
It has been nearly two months, at the tail end of the holiday COVID surge, since Warren County had as many new cases reported in a 24-hour period. It is the highest one-day total since Feb. 4, when 35 cases were documented.

Greenwich Man Arrested Following Disturbance Call
State Police in Greenwich arrested 27-year-old Christopher K. King of Greenwich, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Mischief. State Police responded to a disturbance call at a Greenwich residence early Friday morning after the homeowner reported that Christopher King was in their home damaging their property. When Troopers arrived, they observed several broken cleaning devices in a pile on the front lawn. King was taken into custody and requested that patrols retrieve his cell phone and wallet. Troopers located his cell phone and then removed his wallet from a canvas bag where he had told them it was stored. Troopers located King’s wallet in the bag along with 15 grams of pills containing methamphetamine and a small quantity of marijuana.

Trout Season Starts Thursday
Governor Cuomo announced that trout fishing season in New York State opens on Thursday, April 1. In preparation for opening day, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is stocking 1.8 million catchable trout in waters across the state. In addition to larger size fish being stocked this year, some stream reaches will receive four stockings of trout. To prepare anglers for the 2021 trout season with the new management plan in place, DEC will host virtual outreach events in the coming weeks, including “how to” Facebook Live segments where viewers can learn about beginner trout fishing techniques.
Parking Plan For The Adirondacks
DEC and Adirondack Mountain Reserve have announced the launch of a pilot reservation system that was developed in partnership to provide reliable access and address public safety at a particularly crowded corner on Route 73 in the town of Keene in the Adirondack High Peaks region. The reservation system, operated by AMR, will facilitate safer public access to trailheads through the AMR gate and for Noonmark and Round mountains and improve visitors’ trip planning and preparation by ensuring they have guaranteed parking upon arrival.
