Glens Falls has selected an architecture firm to design the South Street marketplace. The Post Star reports
Envision Architects of Albany was selected to design the marketplace, which will double as a community center and is the centerpiece of the city’s DRI, a $10 million state grant awarded in 2016 to rehabilitate portions of downtown. Once the design phase is over, a request for proposals to build the complex will be sent out.
Latest Warren County COVID Numbers
Warren County Health Services reported nine (9) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Sunday morning, along with 13 additional recoveries.
Six (6) Warren County residents are hospitalized, one (1) fewer than Saturday because of one (1) discharge. One (1) is critically ill, and five (5) are moderately ill.
Health Services staff are monitoring 131 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday, 18% higher than a month ago. 125 of these cases involve mild illness
Warren County’s Weekend Vaccination Event
Warren County Health Services held second-dose and first-dose vaccine clinics on Saturday, with more than 300 doses administered. Warren County is expecting Moderna vaccine next week, with clinics to be publicized when arranged.

Adopt-A-Trailhead Program
A new initiative to assist with the stewardship of trailheads across the state and educate trail users before they enter the backcountry. Introduced in the Governor’s 2021 State of the State address, the Adopt-a-Trailhead program is managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and gives the public the opportunity to support State-led efforts to care for state lands and educate fellow visitors on the value of responsible recreation.
Adopt-a-Trailhead volunteers will bolster ongoing efforts to eliminate litter problems and educate trail users about hiker preparedness.
Vax Opportunities For Veterans
Warren County Veterans Services reports there are COVID-19 vaccination opportunities for veterans in Glens Falls and Fonda on Saturday. April 10th, Veterans Administration will be hosting vaccine clinics at 2 separate community based outpatient clinic (CBOCs.) Walk-in vaccination service will be offered during the times below to any enrolled Veteran or individuals that meet criteria for the SAVE LIVES Act. Fonda CBOC, Route 30A: Walk in J&J COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic 9am to 1pm. Glens Falls CBOC (101 Ridge Street) : Walk in Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic 9am to 2pm.

Warren County Health Services reported 15 new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Thursday morning, along with seven (7) additional recoveries.
Four (4) Warren County residents are hospitalized, one (1) fewer than Wednesday because of one (1) discharge. All are moderately ill.
Health Services staff are monitoring 148 active COVID-19 cases as of Thursday. 144 of these cases involve mild illness.
The active caseload number Thursday is 59% higher than a month earlier.
Drug Take Back Day In Washington County
Washington County Sheriff’s Office is holding an event as part of the DEA’s Drug Take Back Day. It happens at the Law Enforcement Center 399 Broadway in Fort Edward, Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10 AM – 2 PM. “Take Back Day: event provides an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

Warren County Health Services reported 14 new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning, along with four (4) additional recoveries.
Five (5) Warren County residents are hospitalized, one (1) more than Tuesday because of one (1) new admission. All are moderately ill.
Health Services staff are monitoring 140 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, 35% higher than a month earlier on March 7. 135 of these cases involve mild illness.
Washington County Sheriff
Washington County Sheriff’s Office has received calls recently saying some residents have been receiving calls from an unknown individual representing himself as a doctor that’s affiliated with local health clinics. The unknown person attempts to obtain personal information during the calls. The sheriff’s office advises don’t give out any personal information no matter how legitimate they may seem, just hang up and block the number if possible.
