The Queensbury Town Board will hold a special meeting Friday, about the Jenkinsville water contamination issue. According to the Post Star, the Town Board will meet with representatives from DECn and the state Department of Health. It will focus on the Jenkinsville area investigation. The DEC is looking for the source of 1,4-dioxan that had contaminated numerous wells in the neighborhood.
New Home For Lake George Music Festival
The annual Lake George Music Festival has found a new home at the historic Carriage House at the Fort William Henry Hotel. The Post Star reports it’s the festival’s 10th season, and it’s set to kick off on August 18th. Due to the state’s COVID-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to just 300 concert-goers, the equivalent to 33% of the Carriage House’s maximum occupancy.
Plans Could Convert Old Building In Glens Falls Into New Pot Dispensary
The oldest building in Glens Falls could soon become a marijuana dispensary. According to the Post Star, Robin Barkenhagen and his business partner, Brian Bronzino, are seeking to convert an old blacksmith shop at 56 Glen St. into an adult-use marijuana dispensary. The building was built in the 1830s. Plans to convert the building into a dispensary will be heard by the Planning Board on Tuesday.
Glens Falls Fire Cause Probe Continues
Still no word on a cause of a fire in Glens Falls over the weekend. Flames did heavy damage to the porch of a home at 15 Fourth Street. Investigators do not believe the fire was suspicious in nature. It spread quickly from the porch up into the eaves of the house and into the attic, and the roof collapsed. No injuries reported.
Latest Warren County COVID Numbers
Warren County Health Services reported four (4) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning, along with seven (7) additional recoveries.
Seven (7) individuals are hospitalized, one (1) more than Tuesday, and all are moderately ill.
Health Services staff are monitoring 92 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. 85 of these cases involve mild illness.
Warren County COVID Update
Warren County Health Services reported six (6) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday morning, along with nine (9) additional recoveries.
Six (6) individuals are hospitalized, one (1) fewer than Monday. All are moderately ill. Three (3) are moderately ill outside of the hospital.
Health Services staff are monitoring 95 active COVID-19 cases as of Tuesday. 86 of these cases involve mild illness.
The last date that Warren County’s active caseload was as low was March 8 when there were 93 active cases.

Ranger Rescue In Fort Ann
Town of Fort Ann Wilderness Rescue: On April 24 at 12:15 p.m., DEC’s Ray Brook Dispatch received a call from Warren County 911 reporting a 51-year-old woman from Malta with an ankle injury was approximately one mile up the Buck Mountain Trail. Forest Ranger Baker responded along with Pilot Knob Fire and EMS. Once on scene, Ranger Baker assisted with the carryout of the hiker to the trailhead where she was transferred to EMS and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Warren County Health Services reported ten (10) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Monday morning, along with 14 additional recoveries.
Hospitalizations increased to seven (7), all of whom are moderately ill. One (1) of the newly admitted was re-admitted after a recent discharge from the hospital, while another was a new admission. Two (2) are moderately ill outside of the hospital.
Health Services staff are monitoring 98 active COVID-19 cases.
Warren County Health Services Pumping Up Vaccination Efforts
Warren County Health Services is working to arrange vaccination opportunities for Warren County high school students 16 and older, as Warren County is expecting Pfizer vaccine for this age group this week. Vaccination consent forms and information sheets on Pfizer vaccine are being sent to schools to distribute to students and their families.
