The Warren County Board of Supervisors has hired experienced tourism executive Heather Bagshaw to serve as Warren County’s new Director of Tourism. Bagshaw comes to Warren County after recent stints working with hospitality agencies in Greene County, New York, where she served as the county’s Director of Tourism, and Niagara Falls. She spent nearly 10 years overseeing Greene County’s tourism promotion efforts, and also worked as vice president for marketing at Destination Niagara USA.
11 Year Old Hit By Car In Hudson Falls
An 11-year-old child was rushed to Albany Medical Center with severe injuries after being struck by a pick-up truck in Hudson Falls over the weekend. Police went to William Street near Lincoln Street, for reports of a child hit by a pick-up truck. The Post Star reports the driver, Roger Rock, 56, of Hudson Falls, remained on the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation, police said. No tickets have been issued at this time, but the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Warren County Hosts Japan Delegation
The Warren County Board of Supervisors was honored to host delegates from Saga City, Japan on Friday.
For the first time in 4 years, folks from Saga City, Japan — Glens Falls’ sister city — visited Warren County this week as part of the communities’ cultural exchange program. Nineteen Saga City ambassadors visited Warren County Municipal Center on Friday, meeting with county supervisors to discuss the county’s role in local government, having a question-and-answer session with Board of Supervisors members.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Fort Ann
A Whitehall man is dead, after being thrown off his motorcycle in Fort Ann. WNYT reports 36-year-old Everett Mattison III lost control of his motorcycle on route 149, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. He was thrown from the bike when he hit a guardrail. Mattison got emergency care, but died from his injuries at the scene.
Queensbury Woman Arrested For DWI With A Child In The Vehicle
State Police of Queensbury arrested Lynn M. Scoville, 41, of Queensbury, NY, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child. On April 19, 2023, at about 7:19 a.m. Troopers responded to the area of Cronin Road in Queensbury for the report of a driver who appeared intoxicated. Troopers located the described vehicle and identified the driver as Scoville, along with a passenger in the vehicle under the age of 17. Scoville was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated with a child.
Fort Edward Woman Arrested For Having Drugs In Washington County Jail
Police have arrested a Fort Edward woman for allegedly possessing drugs in jail. The Post Star reports 34 year old
Catherine S. Baldini Honyoust was charged with felony counts of first-degree promoting prison contraband and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She is accused of having the drugs while incarcerated at the facility. The type of drug was not specified.
Vigil Held To Remember Shooting Victim
A vigil with outpouring of love for Kaylin Gillis was held at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville on Thursday evening. WNYT reports about 100 people were there. Gillis’ parents and boyfriend all attended the vigil, which was open to the community.
Free Parenting Classes For Warren And Washington Counties
Cornell Cooperative Extension offices from Warren and Washington counties will be offering “PS: It Works! Parenting Program” on five consecutive Tuesdays beginning April 25, 2023 from 12 noon to 1:30pm via zoom.

Suspect In Deadly Washington County Shooting Held Without Bail
Kevin Monahan, the suspect in the death of Kaylin Gillis in Washington County, has been remanded to the Warren County Jail without bail. WNYT reports the 65 year old Monahan appeared in Washington County Court Wednesday for a bail hearing.
Gillis, 20, was killed after the car she was riding in accidentally pulled into Monahan’s driveway after getting lost.
Former Lake George Mayor Gets New Role
The first Lake George Village Board meeting since longtime mayor Bob Blais retired in late March was dominated by mildly contentious discussion over hiring him as the village’s Director of Events. After talking about pay, duties and whether to hire an assistant to shadow Blais and learn his role, the board voted affirmatively to hire him.
