Saratoga Springs has named the next police chief. According to WNYT, the appointment comes after current police chief Shane Crooks filed his retirement papers, effective June 30th. Police lieutenant Tyler McIntosh is next in line to take the helm.

Motorcyclist Dies In Hoosick Falls Crash
A man was killed Monday night in a motorcycle crash in Hoosick Falls. It happened just after 8 p.m. on state Route 22.
WNYT reports 44 year old Michael Cameron of Eagle Bridge, was riding north on a motorcycle when he passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone. He hit another vehicle in the southbound lane that was trying to make a left turn.

Three Arrested On Drug Charges In Queensbury
State Police arrested three people during a warrant investigation in Queensbury, NY. James F. Barber Jr., 50 Queensbury, 36 year old Cassandra Bentley of Queensbury and 40 year old Marquese Hill of Troy all face various drug counts following the sting by police. Barber Jr. and Hill were transported to the Warren County Correctional Facility to await arraignment. Bentley was arraigned at the Queensbury Town Court on May 25, 2023 and released on their own recognizance.
Authorities ID Man Who Drowned Saturday In Lake George
A 27-year-old visitor from Los Angeles, Calif., who drowned in Lake George Saturday afternoon, has now been identified. in an early-season tragedy. The victim, Kumar Hemant, was found in about 20 feet of water and remained unconscious despite immediate and ongoing resuscitation efforts. After being taken to Green Island for further treatment, he was declared deceased.

After the remains of dozens of Revolutionary War American soldiers were found in Upstate New York following construction in 2019, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer launched his efforts to push the U.S. Army to support local plans to honor them in Lake George Battlefield Park. Schumer explained the remains of the Continental Army soldiers were uncovered in 2019 during excavation for a construction project near Courtland Street in Lake George.
Investigation Into Lake George Drowning
The invesigation continues into a drowning in Lake George. WNYT reports the call for a man off West Dollar Island in Bolton came in around 3:15 p.m. Saturday. A dive team was sent to the area. The victim is a 27-year-old man from California, but his name hasn’t been released as yet. They’re still piecing together what led up to the accident.
