Construction Progresses On Amazon Warehouse In Granville

Construction is continuing on the new Amazon warehouse in Granville. Officials said the construction is in the home stretch and should be completed soon. WTEN reports a hiring event is scheduled to take place in August. The building is expected to be officially open in the fall.

Police Believe They’ve Found Stolen Vehicle Used In Gun Shop Break In

A white 2019 Kia Sportage, reportedly stolen and used to intentionally crash into Beecroft’s Shooters Supply in Easton, NY, causing damage and allowing individuals to steal merchandise, has been recovered.
On July 16, the State Police of Greenwich responded to a burglary report at Beecroft’s Shooters Supply. It was during this preliminary investigation that the use of the stolen vehicle was discovered. The vehicle had been used to damage the front door of the business, enabling the burglars to gain entry.

App To Report Trail Damage

We’ve had a lot of severe weather this summer, which has led to downed trees, flooding and blowdown in our woods and elsewhere, causing problems on the hiking trails around the county.

Lake George Man Arrested For Purposely Damaging Vehicle, Knife Threat

A Lake George man was arrested twice in a matter of hours after he allegedly intentionally damaged a vehicle and later returned to the same area where he threatened someone with a knife. Sun Community News reports on July 11, New York State Police first arrested Brian C. Perry, 45, at about 6 p.m. after he allegedly went to a business on Lake Shore Drive in Bolton and purposely damaged someone else’s vehicle in the parking lot. After being arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief, Perry was released on a ticket for Bolton Town Court July 26 and released.

Wild In The Trees Music & Skate Fest

The Wild in the Trees Music & Skate Festival is set to hit Charles R. Wood Park in the village of Lake George after the summer crowd has come and gone. Set for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 7-8, the festival brings two days of bands and skateboard competitions. On Friday, organizers at Mirth Films announced the lineup for the festival, with a headliner yet to be announced.

Syracuse Man Facing Rape Charges In Lake George

A Syracuse man was arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with two minors at a motel in the Village of Lake George. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office charged Michael A. Mickle with Rape in the first and third degrees. Police say a parent reported her 11-year-old daughter was missing at around 1:16 a.m. on July 8. Police determined that the daughter and a 15-year-old friend may have used Tinder to meet with Mickle. Mickle was arraigned at the Warren County CAP Court and released on $5,000 cash bail. Mickle is due back in court at a later date.

Air Quality Advisory Sunday

State officials have announced an air quality health advisory for the entirety of New York, for Monday, July 17.
The pollutants of concern are fine particulate matter for the area with the advisory in effect through 11:59 p.m. The ozone advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Washington County Gun Store Break In

State Police are investigating after a Washington County gun store was burglarized. WNYT reports the incident happened at Beecroft’s Shooters Supply on Route 40 in Easton at around 7:38 a.m. Sunday morning, police said. No word as yet on exactly what was taken or if any suspects have been identified.

Severe Storms Cause Damage, Power Outages Around The Area

Severe thunderstorms across Warren County brought down trees and limbs around the county Wednesday. Numerous roads were blocked or partially blocked from Glens Falls to Bolton and Warrensburg. National Grid reported 3,172 customers without electricity, mostly in Queensbury and Lake George, as of 7 p.m., with restoration expected by midnight. Deadline Approaching For Police Civil Service Exam

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office NY is seeking candidates to fill upcoming Patrol Officer positions, and a Civil Service test that is scheduled for later this year is the first step for prospective officers to join the agency or other police agencies that are hiring.
