LGLC Protects Forested Land In Bolton

The Lake George Land Conservancy (LGLC) has permanently protected 30 acres of forested land in the Town of Bolton that includes more than 350 feet of Huddle Brook. Sun Community News reports in addition to providing permanent protection for Huddle Brook and the water quality of Lake George, the land provides important habitat connectivity for wildlife and potential recreational benefits. The property is situated between the 213-acre Twin Pines property protected by the LGLC in 2019.

Job Fairs This Week For Six Flags Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor

Warren County Department of Workforce Development is working with Six Flags Great Escape and Hurricane Harbor to help fill job openings at the upcoming Fright Fest event and in the new restaurant at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark, which is to open in the coming weeks.
Job fairs for the new Hurricane Grill restaurant will be held Monday August 19 and Tuesday, August 20, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m at the Six Flags Human Resources building, 33 Round Pond Rd, Queensbury.

Lake George Clean Up Day Set For September 15th

The Lake George Association has organized its second annual Lake George Clean-up Day, set this year for Sunday, Sept. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sun Community News reports last year’s Clean-up Day was so successful, that more than 100 residents, visitors and businesses participated and filled a 30-yard dumpster with trash collected from the shores of the lake and nearby areas, all in just four hours. Registration takes place online at LGA.org/Clean-up.

Lake George VFD holds Summer Craft Festival

The Lake George VFD proudly hosts their Annual Summer Festival & Family Festival craft shows: August 16-18. Lake George Clean Up Day

The Lake George Association will hold its 2nd Annual Lake George Clean Up Day on Sunday, September 15, 8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. Residents, visitors, and businesses are encouraged to join the LGA and and a community of volunteers to remove trash from the lake and around the Lake George Village shoreline. The Warren County Sheriff’s Dive Team will lead the underwater clean-up efforts.

Washington County Bounty Tour in September

The Washington County Bounty Tour, formerly known as the Washington County Cheese Tour is back for its 17th annual event September 7 and 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This two-day event offers everyone a chance to explore local farms to enjoy product sampling, musical performances, artisanal markets, and food trucks. There are nine stops and a self-guided tour to get a look at the agricultural heritage of the area.

Three arrested in Glens Falls on drug charges

According to New York State Police they have arrested Carolyn M. Fox, 36, of Glens Falls, Alfred J. Hall, 42, and Jeremy M. Jock, 39, both of Gansevoort on August 4 on drug-related charges. In response to a trespassing call, Police found the three people in a vehicle on posted property. They found felony-weight narcotics and a glass smoking device with drug residue were in the car

Hudson Falls man faces drug charges

A Hudson Falls man is facing drug charges. Manuel Hyland, 39, was arrested July 31 on an outstanding warrant after an investigation in narcotics sales in Fort Edward last October, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.Hyland was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was arraigned in Washington County Court and released on his own recognizance

Sunday morning stabbing leaves 2 injured

Albany Police are investigating a Sunday morning stabbing on Central Avenue, that occurred at 3:05 a.m. They found a 21-year-old man with a stab wound to his arm and a 24-year-old woman with a laceration to her mouth after she was punched. Police believe the two victims and a suspect were arguing. They were transported with non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone with information, call detectives at (518) 462-8039.
