A Queensbury man was charged with coercion after police say he asked an individual for “revealing photos” in exchange for a renting opportunity. WRGB reports State Police responded to a home in Whitehall Wednesday at 4 p.m., for reports of a past occurring dispute. According to police, the previous day John E. Daly Jr., 58, of Queensbury, reportedly “solicited the victim to provide him revealing photographs in exchange for a preferential leasing opportunity at a Dresden apartment.”

Warren County Sets Budget Public Hearing
The Warren County Board of Supervisors has scheduled a November 17th, 2023 public hearing on a $192.8 million tentative budget for 2024. The proposed spending plan is within the New York State property tax cap, and makes significant investments in highway improvements, financial support for SUNY Adirondack and funding for CDTA while compensating for increases in NY State retirement costs, assigned counsel funding, Medicaid and personnel funding.
Drowning Investigated In Washington County
New York State Police are investigating a drowning in Washington County. The victim, Marc L. Luther, 61, of Wilton, was discovered deceased in Clark Pond. WTEN reports State Police were notified on Sunday morning that Luther failed to return home from a fishing trip. Law enforcement responded to Clark Pond and located Luther’s kayak in the water unoccupied.
Park Theater Expands Offering To Lake George
Park Theater’s nonprofit arm is reaching outside of Glens Falls to bring music – and education – to the performers of tomorrow. WTEN reports the Park Theater Foundation Music & Technology Program connects the downtown theater with neighboring Lake George Central School District all throughout November. The program introduces Lake George students to the ways audio technology is used in different performance settings – including the ones students are used to.
Warren County Sheriff’s Deputy Struck On Arm By Passing Car
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after one of its officers was struck by a car. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the town of Queensbury. WTEN reports officers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office were assisting on a crash investigation on Blind Rock Road when a parole officer was struck on the arm by a passing gray SUV. The vehicle continued driving and turned left on Country Club Road.
Funding Available For Home-Based Child Care Businesses
Federal funding is available to assist residents of Warren and Saratoga counties who would like to open home-based childcare businesses. A bi-county task force of public and private partners has obtained $205,000 in federal grant funding, which can be used for New York State-required trainings, fees, and materials, including technological needs, to start a new home-based child care business.

Police Presence To Be Boosted Monday At South Glens Falls High School
The South Glens Falls High School superintendent and interim principal have informed families about a potential school threat. This threat was found in a note during a Friday evening cleaning in a school bathroom. The school’s authorities were promptly notified, leading Deputy Carey of the school resource officer team and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office to start an investigation. Despite the threat being non-credible, the school will increase police presence on Monday, November 6, 2023, as a safety measure. The school has asked parents to discuss the implications of making such threats with their children.

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara has introduced legislation to establish Daylight Saving Time as the year-round standard in New York. That would mean that people would not have to change the clocks twice a year. Clocks are set to go back one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday. This would depend on the collaboration of neighboring states and the federal government.
Remains Thought To Be From Revolutionary War Uncovered In Town Of Lake George
While National Grid worked near a restaurant in Lake George it made a discovery, human remains that are believed to be from the Revolutionary War. Experts said the remains were in an unmarked grave and likely the first protected under a new law. WTEN reports the company’s gas crews were working on a gas line near the Lobster Pot restaurant on October 17 when they found a human skull. According to National Grid, all work was stopped and has not yet resumed. It was reported to the Town of Lake George.
