The 18th Annual Lake George Triathlon will be held on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1 with races beginning at Lake George (Million Dollar) Beach and continuing along the Warren County Bikeway and streets in the Lake George Region. The triathlon series is brought to Lake George by Alpha Win and features three events of varying lengths, reports the Lake George Examiner.

Man Facing Charges For Being Impaired At Court Date
A Brant Lake man faces charges after arriving drunk at Chestertown State Police to be processed for an arrest the day prior. Darren Alvaro, 47, was originally charged with unlawful dissemination of the publication of an intimate image. Police say on the day of his court date, Alvaro had a blood alcohol content of .26%.
Drug Charges Face Woman After Argyle Traffic Stop
An Argyle woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop. According to WNYT, 24 year old Kaylee E. Riccio was stopped on State Route 197 on Aug. 15 in the town of Argyle. Deputies found drugs in the vehicle, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. Riccio was charged with two felony counts and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
Lake George Boat Show Returns This Weekend
The 50th annual Lake George Boat Show returns this weekend. The Sun Community News reports the Adirondack Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society is bringing the popular event back in three locations. The Antique and Classic Boat Show will be held at the Town Park in Hague on Friday 9 a.m. to noon and in Bolton from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday.
The free show and other events will also be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Lake George Village Aug. 23-25.
Queensbury Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrests
Two people were arrested Tuesday following a traffic stop on Lower Warren Street in Queensbury which yielded a “large quantity” of drugs. The driver, John N. Rowland, 46, of Hudson Falls, was found to be in possession of a large quantity of crack cocaine and smaller quantities of methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and a switchblade knife. 38 year old

Oktoberfest Returns To Six Flags Great Escape
Oktoberfest returns to Six Flags Great Escape for five weekends starting August 24. German-inspired cuisines like bratwurst, kielbasa, pierogis, and German potato salad will be offered, as well as giant pretzels with beer cheese and mixed berry strudel for snack cravings. Queens Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Child
A Queens man is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old child in Washington County. WNYT reports State Police received a report of a missing child from Granville. Investigators found 33 year old Carlos A. Cabello Gonzalez with the child in the village of Granville. Cabello Gonzalez allegedly communicating with the child via an online app and they arranged to meet.
Promotional Funding Info For Warren County
The Warren County Tourism Department Lake George Area has created a new online process for event organizers and promoters to apply for promotional funding during a new annual period in September and early October. An online informational session will be held on Monday, August 26.
