Janice Prichett, an Adirondack photographer who resides in Upstate New York, is now taking orders for a 2024 Adirondack calendar which features images from around the Adirondack Park. Lake George Town Justice Resigning At Year’s End
Lake George Town Justice Mike Stafford, who was re-elected without opposition to a sixth four-year term on November 7, will resign December 31, 2023. The Lake George Mirror reports Stafford announced his intention to resign on December 7. William Ryan, a partner in an Albany law firm and a resident of Lake George, has been appointed by the Lake George Town Board to fill Stafford’s unexpired term.
‘Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over’ Up And Running
The New York State Police will participate in the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, which runs now through Monday, Jan. 1. In addition to the DWI checkpoints and patrols, Troopers will be watching for distracted drivers, vehicle occupants who are not properly buckled up, and drivers violating the “Move Over Law,” which requires motorists to exercise extreme caution when passing emergency vehicles that are stopped in or on the side of the road.
New Chapter For Hickory Ski Center
Hickory Ski Center in Warrensburg has received an infusion of cash that will allow its management to operate ski lifts, which have been idle for about eight years. Sun Community News reports a collaboration between the online ski ticketing agency IndyPass, Hickory management, and a digital ski publication titled Unofficial Networks, has made the revival of Hickory ski center a reality.

Open enrollment season for health insurance is here for many! Warren County Department of Social Services is making it easier for residents to get their questions answered and to apply through the New York State of Health program by bringing insurance experts to the Warren County Department of Social Services in Lake George on Friday, December 15.
Representatives will be able to answer questions from 10 a.m. to noon.

Man Arrested In Stolen Car Case
A man was arrested after crashing a stolen car on Ridge Street in Glens Falls on Friday. 34 year old Shaun Santos allegedly crashed the car on Ridge Street in Glens Falls and fled on foot. He was found close to the scene, questioned by officers and taken into custody.
COVID Case Increase Leads To Mandatory Masks At Glens Falls Hospital
Glens Falls Hospital is requiring staff, patients and visitors to wear a mask because of an increase in COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses. According to WNYT, The requirement also applies to off-site locations run by Glens Falls Hospital, according to an announcement on the organization’s Facebook page.
Lake George Highway Department Seeking Laborer
The Town of Lake George Highway Department has an opening for a laborer. A CDL Class B endorsement with air brakes is preferred but not required. Nights and weekends will be required during the winter events. Starting date is December 18, 2023. Starting wage is $18.00 for a laborer and $21.00 if you have a CDL. CDTA Answers Questions About Merger
CDTA officials held a meeting at the Crandall Public Library on Monday to answer any questions from the community. WTEN reports you may have already seen the changes at your nearby bus stop. Gone are the old GGFT logos and in its place CDTA. “We are going to merge the Greater Glens Falls Transit system into CDTA effective January 1,” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile.
