Eight People Arrested On Drug Counts In Washington County

Eight people have been arrested in Washington County for allegedly trafficking and using narcotics. Among the suspects;
Brad S. Clark, 48, of Fort Edward, Gregory C. Nelson, 41, of New York City, Leland T. Smith, 45, of Hudson Falls, Jacqueline A. Rock, 33, homeless, Cody J. Rozell, 30, homeless. Kaonti Brooke Sartoris, 28, of Kingsbury, Hope E. Braymer, 25, of Glens Falls and Jacob D. Welch, 33, of Gansevoort.

Warren County Seeks Businesses For Upcoming Job Fairs

Warren County leaders are looking for businesses who need some seasonal help. Three job fairs are scheduled for high schools in the county over the next few weeks. WNYT reports Queensbury Middle School and High School will host a job fair on Wednesday, March 20, Glens Falls High School will host a job fair on Thursday, April 11, and Lake George Jr-Sr. High will host a hiring event on Wednesday, April 17.

Johnsburg Man Faces Child Porn Counts

State Police of Queensbury arrested Brandon M. Frasier, 30, of Johnsburg for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child. Frasier is accused of possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
Frasier was transported to SP Chestertown where he was arrested and processed. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Johnsburg Town Court on February 23rd and released.

Group Donates $20K To Glens Falls Area Youth Center

Hudson River Community Credit Union has donated $20,000 to support the Glens Falls Area Youth Center. WNYT reports the center works to provide a wide variety of educational and recreational programs for at-risk youth living in Warren, Washington and Saratoga counties. This donation will support programs for kids in Glens Falls.

Big Weekend For Lake George Winter Carnival

Food truck operators at Lake George Winter Carnival were warned recently to stock up so they are ready to meet the demand expected at this weekend’s Lake George Winter Carnival. Outhouse races, which begin at 2 p.m. Saturday , will host more participants than they did on Feb. 3, since more people have heard about the $2,000 in cash prizes for not only the first-place winner, but those who race the fastest in preliminary heats.

LGHS Holds Civic Engagement Day

Lake George High School held a “Civic Engagement Day” on Feb. 9. Sun Community News reports the event provided an opportunity for students to interact with community leaders and officials from Warren County’s economic development agencies, to learn about the entities’ missions and functions. The event included interactions between the students and economic development officials based locally and in Warren County.

Adirondack Theatre Festival Starting Fundraising Campaign

The Adirondack Theatre Festival (ATF) is returning to Glens Falls for its 30th anniversary. On February 10, the festival also announced “Stories Start Here,” the biggest independent fundraising campaign in the company’s history. WTEN reports the “Stories Start Here” Campaign will support new audience development efforts as well as new plays and musicals.

Teen Rejects Plea Deal In Shooting Death Case

An 18-year-old suspect charged in the shooting death of a 14-year-old in Fort Ann last August has declined a plea deal in this case. WRGB reports the suspect, who was 17 at the time, was charged with manslaughter and reckless endangerment.
The boy who was shot was taken to Glens Falls Hospital where he later died.
