WNYT reports the program, called “FRAUD ALERT,” will help protect people from documents like deeds or mortgages being filed in their names. You can log on, and sign-up to receive alerts when anything is recorded in your name. You can then view that document online or at the Warren County clerk’s office.

Investigation Into Death Of 13 Year Old In Saratoga County
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that its Criminal Investigation Unit and Road Patrol are investigating the death of a 13-year-old male as of February 23. The sheriff’s office reports that it happened in the town of Edinburg. WTEN reports there are no obvious indicators of cause of death and they are waiting for the autopsy results. The child’s identity is being withheld.
Salem Man Arrested As Fugitive
Washington County Sheriff’s arrested John F. Sulpizi, 60, of Salem for failing to appear for a felony charge, as a fugitive of justice out of Berkshire County. WNYT reports Sulpizi did not appear for a felony charge for indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14. Authorities say he is being held at the Washington County Jail, pending arraignment.
LGLC Awarded $4 Million In Grants
The Lake George Land Conservancy announced they have been awarded $4.15 million in grants as part of the Department of Environmental Conservation’s Water Quality Improvement Project. The funding will go toward land acquisition for source water protection. WTEN reports $3.5 million of the grant funds will be used to permanently protect over 700 acres in the Indian Brook sub-watershed region of Bolton. The remaining funding will go toward purchasing a 73-acre forested property in Lake George.
Warm Weather Means Early Closures For Lake George Attractions
In Lake George, Winter’s Dream, originally slated to remain open until March 31, after receiving $3 million in Warren County occupancy funds via the newly formed Winter Coalition, will now close after March 9. The remaining dates are: Feb. 22 through Feb. 25, and Saturdays, March 2 and 9. ‘Winter Realms,’ which replaced Ice Castles, plans to remain open until March 4 and cites weather as a contributing factor to the early closure.
Glens Falls Wing Fest Returning
Glens Falls Wing Fest will be making its return in the spring. The annual event is scheduled for April 27 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. WTEN reports the yearly festival will feature local restaurants competing to see who has the best wings in the area. Patrons will be able to try samples for $1 (single wing) or $5 (multiple wings) and cast a vote for their favorites.
Vermont Man Charged With Stealing From Washington County Business
A Vermont man is accused of stealing from a Washington County business. 49 year old Eric M. Tuepker of Rutland, took merchandise from an unidentified business in Granville, say authorities. Tuepker was arrested on unrelated charges in Vermont, and was found to be wanted in New York. Tuepker didn’t act alone, said investigators, and more charges are likely.
Guilty Plea In Moreau Lake State Park Abduction
The man who kidnapped a 9-year-old girl from Moreau Lake State Park last September is facing 47 years to life in prison after admitting to the crime on Wednesday. WNYT reports Craig Ross Jr., 46, pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court to kidnapping and another charge against him. Sentencing is scheduled for April 17 at 2 p.m.
