Warren County Man Arrested In Ohio On Attempted Abduction Counts

A Thurman man is in custody on a warrant in connection with an attempted adduction in Ohio.
On Feb. 28, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a felony arrest warrant from the Ashtabula Municipal Court related to an attempted abduction that had occurred several days earlier in the City of Ashtabula, Ohio.
Members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division located the suspect, 41-year-old James E Murphy III of Thurman, and took him into custody without incident.

Glens Falls Planning Board To Hear Apartment Complex Plans

A proposal for a four-story 60 apartment unit mixed use commercial building on Warren Street will go before the Glens Falls Planning Board on March 5. The Glens Falls Chronicle reports Margaret Girard, owner of 109 and 115-117 Warren Street “is seeking sketch plan review and approval for construction of a new mixed use commercial building with 21,235 sq. ft. of commercial space on the first floor and a total of 60 apartment units on the upper three floors of the building.

Two Arrested In Queensbury On Endangering The Welfare Of Children Charges

Two people were arrested in Queensbury, accused of endangering the welfare of children. Guy Chadwick, 42, of Queensbury, and Jennifer Hagadorn, 34, of Wilton each face charges.
On Saturday, around 6:15 p.m. troopers responded to Main Street in Queensbury for reports of children in the custody of intoxicated adults. Police say Chadwick and Hagadorn were found in the area with two children under 5. State Police say both appeared to be under the influence of narcotics.

Queensbury Man Arrested On Rape Charges

New York State Police arrested Christopher W. Holcomb, 29, of Queensbury for rape in the third degree. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a tip that an adult male had sexual contact with a child. State Police say Holcomb allegedly had sexual contact with a child in the fall of 2023. After arraignment, Holcomb was remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility without bail.

Fence Company Operator Charged With Grand Larceny

The owner of Trust a Fence is accused of receiving money from two victims for fence installations, but never starting either project or returning the money. WRGB reports 31-year-old James Butler, was charged with two counts of grand larceny on February 23. In January, Troopers said it received two complaints of contractor theft in the Capital Region, one in Saratoga County, the other in Warren County. According to New York State Police, the two victims hired Butler for contracted fence installations.

Two Cuffed On Drug Charges After Warren County Traffic Stop

Two people were arrested after being pulled over by Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies and are accused of possessing cocaine and crack cocaine. 20 year old Saana Sheerer of Queensbury and 39 year old Angelina LaPointe of Argyle each face charges after they were found with over 10.6 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine, and LaPointe had an additional five grams of cocaine on her.

Queensbury Woman Charged For SNAP Benefits Fraud

A Queensbury woman was arrested this week, accused of welfare fraud, grand larceny, and more. Brittney Alguire, 31, faces multiple charges. WTEN reports deputies from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office say Alguire failed to report income on a recertification application this month. Deputies say Alguire was given $3,282 in SNAP benefits that she otherwise wouldn’t have been eligible to receive.

Warren County Seeks Election Poll Inspectors

Warren County NY Board of Elections held training for election poll inspectors recently, and the staff is still in need for more folks to step up to help make sure our elections run smoothly.
These are paid, per diem positions that include paid training and $240 stipends for working on election day, while poll workers can choose work sites near their homes whenever possible.

Warren County Taking Orders For Tree And Shrub, Fish Stocking Programs

Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District are taking orders for two of their popular warm weather programs — tree and shrub sale and their fishing stocking program. The tree and shrub sale is, with more than 30 different tree and shrub species will be available during this year’s sale. Sentencing Moved In Washington County Gun Shop Robbery

The sentencing for the man who stole guns from a shop in Washington County has been moved to May. WNYT reports
Jonathon Combs was set for sentencing in United States District Court on Monday. He admitted to stealing 31 semiautomatic guns from Calamity Jane’s, a gun shop in Kingsbury. He faces up to life in prison.
