A Ballston Spa man was arrested and is accused of sending two minorsin Warren County lewd images on Facebook. 29 year old Andrew Stawniczy faces multiple charges. In December, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the incident and began an investigation that led them to Stawniczy.

Lake George Woman Charged After Found Unresponsive In Car With Kids
A Lake George woman was arrested after she was found under the influence of drugs and unconscious at the wheel with two kids in the back 32 year old Ashley Seifert faces multiple charges after deputies responded to a Lake George restaurant for reports of an impaired woman trying to leave with two children in the car. When deputies arrived, law enforcement says Seifert was found unconscious behind the wheel of a running car. Deputies say the children in the car were 8 and 10.
‘I BIRD NY’ Challenge
DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced the start of the 2024 ‘I BIRD NY’ Challenge for birders of all ages and abilities. The challenge provides opportunities to identify birds and learn about birdlife and awards program finishers with a commemorative I BIRD NY Challenge patch and the chance to win birding equipment.
New York has more than 350 Birding Trail locations and new locations are added often, making it even easier for New Yorkers to get started.

Lyme Disease Study Group To Meet
On Thursday, March 21, from 6 – 8 p.m. the ongoing Lyme Disease Study Group will meet at Battenkill Books, in Cambridge.
The Post Star reports those who would like to participate are asked to read Bitten – The Secret History of Lyme Disease and Biological Weapons by Kris Newby, to watch the documentary Under Our Skin. There is no charge but space is limited.
Pride Events Slated For June
As June approaches, organizations are announcing their festivals to celebrate Pride Month. Lower Adirondack Pride will host the 2024 Glens Falls Pride Festival on June 2 from noon to 4 p.m. in Glens Falls City Park. Also, Lake George DJ Takeover Music and Arts Festival will host the Lake George Pride Festival on June 9 from noon to 7 p.m. with a “tea dance” for ages 18 and older from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Early Voting In Warren County
Warren County voters will be able to take advantage of Early Voting for the upcoming Presidential Primary as of Saturday, March 23. Early Voting will be held at Warren County Municipal Center and Glens Falls City Hall. Those who are not registered to vote need to do so by March 23 to be eligible to vote in this primary. Washington County Man Charged With Welfare Fraud
Police have accused a Washington County man of welfare fraud. WNYT reports Bradley C. Shaffer, 45, of Hartford, allegedly failed to disclose income when he filed out a rental housing assistance form in Queensbury last October, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said. This resulted in Shaffer obtaining nearly $3,700 in benefits to which he was not entitled.
Gillis Family Suing Monahan Estate
The family of Kaylin Gillis is asking a judge to freeze at least $5 million in assets of the man convicted of killing her. WNYT reports Gillis’ estate is suing Kevin Monahan for wrongful death. Monahan was convicted in January of second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Gillis in his driveway on April 15, 2023. She was a passenger in an SUV that had gotten lost and turned up his driveway.
Lake George Herbicide Controversy Heads For Appeals Hearing
As the number of lake communities look to combat invasive milfoil, the Lake George Park Commission is eyeing the aquatic herbicide for use in its long battle against invasive milfoil and the Lake George Association is emphatically opposed and has gone to court to block application. The Adirondack Explorer reports a lawsuit centered on the high-profile lake continues to fuel a contentious fight among lake advocates and managers and is scheduled for an appeals hearing in Albany on March 27.
