Investigation Into Cause Of Monday Fire In Greenwich

Two dogs and two cats were killed in a Greenwich fire. WNYT reports the fire call came in late Monday afternoon for 468 Lick Springs Road, in the area of the former Ashville Game Farm and Zoo. One person inside the home was not hurt, investigators said. The cause is under investigation.

Specialized RV Found For Lake George Marine

An injured U.S. Marine from Lake George can head to a reunion with his fellow Marines in Florida now that his family has found a specialized RV. According to WNYT, Sgt. Eddie Ryan was shot in Iraq in 2005 and nearly died. He wanted to reunite with his comrades in April. One charity scoured the country for an RV with a lift and they found one in Georgia. It’s being driven to Staten Island where Eddie’s father, Chris, will pick it up.

Monahan Lawyers Work On Asset Forefeiture

Lawyers for Kevin Monahan and Andrew Gillis have reached a deal regarding a recent motion in the civil lawsuit over Kaylin Gillis’ death. WRGB reports the Gillis family is seeking at least $5 million in the wrongful death lawsuit, citing the fact that a jury found Monahan guilty of shooting and killing Kaylin. Per the agreement reached this week– the Monahans would not transfer any assets for the time being. A Saratoga County Supreme Court judge will hear arguments on April 11.

Eclipse Update For Warren County

Most of Warren County will experience a partial eclipse April 8th, but parts of northwestern Warren County will see the total eclipse for up to a minute shortly after 3:20 p.m
This includes the hamlets of North Creek, North River, Wevertown, Pottersville and Thirteenth Lake area, both in the Town of Johnsburg, according to Eclipse2024.org.

Vote Tabled On Cambridge CSD Mascot Name

A Cambridge CSD statement indicated that at Thursday night’s meeting, the school board voted to table the mascot motion “to provide more time for district administration to review additional information that has been brought to its attention and to discuss with our school attorney.” WRGB reports in a 250-201 vote, students in the Cambridge Central School District (CCS) have selected ‘Valley Wolves’ as the district’s next mascot.

Horicon Man Arrested For Alleged Sex Crimes

A Horicon man has been arrested following a sex crime investigation, according to state police. John Bello, 47, was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child. According to WTEN, on March 1, state police received a report of a past occurring sexual abuse incident. The investigation determined that Bello allegedly sexually abused a child under the age of 14 while in Horicon back in 2015.

Lake George High School Drama Club To Present ‘Mean Girls’

The Lake George High School Drama Club has taken on the musical “Mean Girls,” which is based on the book written by Tina Fey of Saturday Night Live fame — and its subsequent 2004 film for which Fey also wrote the screenplay. Sun Community News reports Lake George’s production of the high school edition is to be held Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23 at 7 p.m.

Hazardous Household Waste Disposal Event In Warren County

Registration is open in Warren County to drop off hazardous waste around your house. WNYT reports residents can sign up to drop off materials like antifreeze, pesticides, gasoline, cleaners and other products at no cost. The event is taking place on Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Queensbury Highway Department. Registration is required.
