Pizza Hut, located at 12 Hudson Avenue in Glens Falls, is closing its doors. According to a company press person, the restaurant’s last day was Wednesday. WTEN reports a reason for the closure was not given. This comes after several Capital Region Pizza Hut locations closed in June 2023.

Boyfriend Of Kaylin Gillis Sues Over Shooting

The boyfriend of the woman shot and killed by Kevin Monahan in his Washington County driveway is suing over emotional distress. WNYT reports Blake Walsh has filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court of Washington County against Monahan and his wife Jinx. Walsh was driving one of the vehicles that had gotten lost and turned around in Monahan’s driveway in Hebron on April 15. Walsh’s girlfriend, Kaylin Gillis, was riding in the passenger seat.

Glens Falls’ Fredette Will Play On US Olympic 3v3 Hoops Team

Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette is an Olympian. WNYT reports he will represent the United States at the Paris Olympics as part of Team USA’s first Olympic three-on-three basketball team. Fredette, 35, led Glens Falls to a state championship game in high school before becoming national player of the year at BYU.

Erenstone Resigns As Chairman of the Lake Placid Sports Council

Jeff Erenstone resigned as chairman of the Lake Placid Sports Council this month, less than one year after the council was reinstated. His resignation comes as the town of North Elba and state Olympic Regional Development Authority work on creating a new version of a long-expired operational agreement, which authorizes ORDA to operate the town-owned Olympic venues.

Women In Trades Information Session

WSWHE BOCES will host an information session about local opportunities for women in trades such as automotive repair, heavy equipment operation, construction, machining, welding, security and more on Wednesday, March 27, opportunities that include funding for training for some Warren County residents. Warren County Department of Workforce Development staff will be on hand at this event at BOCES in Wilton to answer any questions about how their office can help cover the costs for any training programs for these in-demand careers.

Lake George Block Party Festival In May

Former Lake George Mayor Bob Blais, who is now director of special events for the Village of Lake George, has organized a two-day block party festival for Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, which will take place on Ottawa Street. Similar to the sold-out events of the past, proceeds will go to each of the 16 participating local not-for-profits. Most of the activities offered will be free of charge, with voluntary donations accepted by the participating entities.

Hudson Falls Woman Charged With DWI In Hudson Falls Accident

A Hudson Falls woman is accused of driving while more than three times the legal limit for intoxication. WNYT reports the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disabled vehicle in the middle of Route 9N near Exit 21 in the town of Lake George earlier this month. An investigation determined that Kelly M. Lescault, 41, struck a guard rail and her blood alcohol content was point 25. Lescault was charged with aggravated DWI and released pending a future appearance in lake George Town Court.

Lake George Event For Sgt. Eddie Ryan Raised $30K

An event for Sgt. Eddie Ryan at The Holiday Inn Resort Lake George raised over $30,000 toward his trip to be reunited with his Marines. WNYT reports Ryan, who was shot in the head in Iraq, is heading to Florida to see some of the Marines in his unit. He has not seen some of them since April 2005. Organizers say a few hundred people attended the event.
