The Warren County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Hudson Falls woman following a drug investigation. 43 year oldTracy Whipple was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance, after allegedly selling meth to members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit during two separate operations earlier this year. She was arrested on August 27 on an active indictment warrant.

“Jazz at the Lake” Returns To Lake George
The Lake George Jazz Weekend, now known as “Jazz at the Lake,” returns to Lake George Friday, Sept. 13 through Sunday, Sept. 15 with a roster of established and rising jazz stars and special programming. Update On Warren County Comprehensive Plan September 10th
The public will get an update on Warren County’s process to create a new Comprehensive Plan on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 when the Comprehensive Plan “Project Advisory Group” holds its next meeting. The Project Advisory Group will be focusing on “action items” for the plan as they near completion.
This meeting will be held at Warrensburg Fire Station, 18 Elm Street, Warrensburg, starting at 3:30 p.m., and the public is welcome.
Palisades Road In Warren County To Close For Several Weeks
Head’s up for those who live on or travel on Palisades Road (Warren County Route 26) in the Town of Horicon – Warren County, NY — Palisades Road will be closed for several weeks near Curtis Read Road for replacement of a culvert, starting Tuesday, September 3.
Curtis Read Road will be accessible from the north end of Palisades Road, and a signed detour will be in place. All homes and properties will remain accessible. The project is expected to wrap up this fall
Adirondack Balloon Festival Returning
The Adirondack Balloon Festival is returning to Glens Falls and Queensbury for its 51st year. The festival is set for September 19 through 22 at Crandall Park and Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport. WTEN reports the Adirondack Balloon Festival was founded in the early 1970s and was originally held at SUNY Adirondack before it outgrew the site. Today, the event draws more than 100,000 people over four days.
Grant Funding Application Open In Warren County
Warren County has announced the Occupancy Tax Special Events Grant Funding Application Portal is now open. Sun Community News reports applicants must first register to receive access. Once access is granted, the application will be available for completion. Warren County Tourism Department encourages applicants to register prior to 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, as there will be limited support and approval of registrations during the holiday weekend. Hochul Urging Participation In State Lands Stewardship
Gov. Kathy Hochul is encouraging New Yorkers to give back to state lands and enjoy the outdoors by participating in stewardship events during the first-ever Adirondack and Catskill Park Day on Saturday, Sept. 7. Two Men Face Charges In Queensbury Traffic Stop
Two men face weapons charges after a Queensbury traffic stop. 27 year old Joseph Yarter was stopped in the area of Main Street for a traffic violation, late Thursday evening. He didn’t have a valid driver’s license, police said., and troopers found numerous narcotics and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. His passenger, 22 year old Robert J. Miller had a loaded handgun that was illegal.
CTDA making changes to trolley service
The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will make changes to trolley service in Lake George beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2024 for routes 876 and 877. There will be no changes to the trolley schedule Friday through Sunday. For more information on the changes, visit ctda.org.
Adirondack Nationals Car Show
As many as 50,000 automotive enthusiasts are expected in Lake George Village Sept. 5 to Sunday, Sept. 8 for the Adirondack Nationals car show, one of the largest of its kind in the eastern U.S., held at the Fort William Henry resort. The annual highlights of the car show are the two “Cruise-In” events to be held this year from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday Sept. 6, and Saturday Sept. 7. Purchased entry wristbands are good for all four days.
