The effort to develop the proposed Joseph Warren museum was derailed at least temporarily on April 19 as construction funding resolutions totaling $1 million that were pending before the Warren County Board of Supervisors were tabled. Sun Community News reports a meeting of the full Board of Supervisors focusing on the museum, its operational plan and funding, is expected to be held within a few weeks.

Honor Flight From Warren County Saturday
On Saturday, Warren County veterans will meet at the Warren County Municipal Center’s Human Services Building, 1340 Route 9, in Queensbury, to catch an 8:15 a.m. bus to Albany International Airport. They’ll be flown to Washington, D.C., for a two-day visit to the U.S. Capitol. This will be the second Capital Region Leatherstocking Honor Flight’s all-expenses-paid excursion and includes the flight itself and an overnight stay at a Washington hotel.

Off Duty Paramedic Among Rescuers Of Drowning Girl
An off-duty paramedic was part of a group of responders who jumped in to save a little girl Saturday at Six Flags Great Escape Lodge and Indoor Waterpark. WNYT reports a 5-year-old girl was found unresponsive in the water and taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Thanks to quick-thinking adults, she is recovering.
Stec Measure To Eliminate Correctional Facilities Closures Defeated By Dems
Recently, Sen. Dan Stec (R,C-Queensbury) voted against the Public Protection and General Government Bill (S.8305-C) state budget bill and a measure in it that authorizes the closure of up to five correctional facilities statewide. Sun Community News reports during debate on the bill, Sen. Stec brought a hostile amendment to the Senate floor that would eliminate this closure provision. The amendment was defeated by Senate Democrats in a party-line vote.

Five Year Old Stable After Being Found Unresponsive In Great Escape Lodge Water Park
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office reported that a five-year-old was found unresponsive at the Great Escape Lodge Water Park in the water on Saturday. The sheriff’s office classified this incident as an accidental drowning. WTEN reports police say the child was transported to Albany Hospital by Life Net and is reported to be stable.
