Lake George is gearing up to be lined with motorcycles for Americade during the last week of May. WTEN reports thousands of riders will take to the Adirondacks for the festival including boat cruises, picturesque rides, live music, and even a rodeo by the Painted Pony Rodeo of Lake Luzerne. Americade rented the arena for Thursday, May 30 at 5:30 p.m. including a barbecue before the show.

Woman Found Dead In Glens Falls Apartment
Glens Falls Police have identified the woman found dead in an apartment on Maple Street Tuesday as a 66-year-old woman. WNYT reports Melanie Conway was found dead inside a Glens Falls apartment Tuesday covered with household items.
An autopsy conducted on Wednesday found no signs of trauma or injuries that would have contributed to the immediate cause of death. Police are still waiting for toxicology results.
Meeting On Potential Funding For Joseph Warren Center
The Warren County Board of Supervisors will hold a special workshop meeting on Thursday, May 2.

Boil Water Advisory In Queensbury
The Glens Falls City Water Department has announced a boil water advisory due to a water main break in a section of Queensbury. Clark Street, Reservoir Road, and Old Forge Road residents are impacted. WTEN reports the water department says that affected residents must boil water or use bottled water for all culinary and consumption uses. Tap water should be boiled at a rolling boil for at least one minute and cooled before use.
McPhillips Preserve On French Mountain Update
The Town of Lake George’s recreation park at the McPhillips Preserve on French Mountain, comprising networks of hiking and biking trails, a pavilion for nature education, a parking lot and various amenities, is expected to open to the public in 2025.
The Lake George Mirror reports the Town is now reviewing bids from contractors to construct the trails, said Dan Barusch, Lake George’s Director of Planning and Zoning.
Warren County DMV Takes Part In ‘Donate Life’ Campaign
The Department of Motor Vehicles staff at Warren County Municipal Center is doing their part to help those who are in need through the annual “Donate Life” campaign. The DMV staff is working to sign up new organ donors during their DMV transactions through the New York State Donate Life Registry. Funding For Home-Based Child Care
A bi-county task force of public and private partners in Warren and Saratoga counties has obtained $205,000 in federal grant funding, which can be used for New York State-required trainings, fees, and materials, including technological needs, to start a new home-based child care business. The counties’ grant application stemmed from a survey performed as the COVID-19 pandemic affected the availability of child care, significantly impacting the local workforce.
Residents Complain About Uninspected Lake George Boat Launches
State officials are not planning to restrict early and late season launches on Lake George despite a small band of residents documenting boats using the Million Dollar Beach ramp nearly every month of the year. The Adirondack Explorer reports the residents, members of the Lake Stewardship Group of Cleverdale, say the boats could threaten the lake’s 10-year-long run of no new invasive species since they are launching when no boat inspectors or stewards are present.
Mother Of Boy Killed In Lake George Motorcycle Crash Honored
A Warren County woman who endured the loss of her son and fiancé when they were hit by a motorcycle was honored for her courage . Sun Community News reports Jasmine Luellen received the Warren County District Attorney’s Office’s Courage Award during a ceremony commemorating National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Her son, 8-year-old son, Quinton Delgadillo, and her 38-year-old fiancé, Jamie Persons, were killed on June 12, 2022, by an intoxicated motorcyclist driving recklessly in the Town of Lake George.
