Weapons Counts Face Man In Washington County

he Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a White Creek man after he was allegedly found with assault weapons and large-capacity magazines. Eric Roewer, 62, was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. WTEN reports the sheriff’s office reported that the arrest was made on May 1 after an investigation was conducted where they say Roewer had these assault weapons. It is also alleged that Roewer was forbidden to possess firearms.

Deadly Motorcycle Crash In Warren County Tuesday

One person has died in a motorcycle crash in North Creek, Warren County. According to WNYT, the crash happened on North Gore Road around 4:20 Tuesday afternoon and the victim was confirmed dead at the scene. Another person was flown to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. No word on what lead to the crash.

Boil Water Order In Parts Of Queensbury

A boil water order has been issued for parts of the town of Queensbury due to a water main break. The advisory is for Clark Street, Reservoir Road and Old Forge. WTEN reports the water main break took place Monday afternoon.

Queensbury Man Draws 23 Year Prison Term For Attempted Murder

A Queensbury man was sentenced to 23 years in state prison Friday, following a jury trial. WRGB reports 43 year old
Christian Maldonado was convicted of One Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and One Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree following a jury trial. The indictment, handed up on May 9, 2023, alleged that on or about April 27, 2023, in the area of Lark and Orange Streets in the City of Albany, Maldonado attempted to cause the death of another person, and possessed an illegal, loaded firearm.

Missing Lake George Sign Found On Hiking Trail

Being at the right place, at the right time helped the Warren County Sheriff’s Office when a man found the ‘Welcome to the Village of Lake George’ sign this weekend. WNYT reports the the sign on Beach Rd was taken a few days ago. Phillip Underwood went to Prospect Mountain Hiking Trail on Saturday, May 4, and found the sign there.

‘Love My Park Day’ Events Locally

Saturday, is “Love My Park Day” around New York. Locally, the NY State Department of Environmental Conservation is hosting a number of formal cleanup or tree planting events in Warren County, including at Battlefield Park in Lake George, Ralph Road State Forest in Lake Luzerne and Rogers Rock Campground in Hague.

Ice Castle Event Leaves Damage Behind At Lake George Park

The past winter’s Ice Castle event [officially, Winter Realms] did “a significant amount of damage” to the Festival Space at Charles Wood Park in Lake George. The Glens Falls Chronicle reports the Warren County Superintendent of Public Works said they had to put 176 hours of manpower into work at the park after the event, saying Ice Castle’s subcontractors caused “significant damage” removing rental containers by dragging the heavy bins through wet sod and soil.

Glens Falls City Park for Pet Fest Upcoming

The Glens Falls City Park for Pet Fest on Sunday, May 19. The pet-friendly event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is organized by the Glens Falls Collaborative. WTEN reports Well-behaved and leashed four-legged friends can participate in the festivities. The festival offers interactive demonstrations by North Country Paws for Obedience, an adoptable dog fashion show, and a Dogs Got Talent contest.
