Queensbury-Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade may happen this year, after being canceled during the pandemic last year. The Post Star quotes the mayor as saying they can plan a parade and cancel it the day before if need be, but if no planning is done, they can’t put a march together at all. Glens Falls Dispensary Plans Tabled
Plans to open a marijuana dispensary in Glens Falls have been tabled. The Post Star reports it was done to give city officials more time to decide if they want to allow retail sales of the drug. The owners of the 42 Degrees smoke shop are interested in converting the old blacksmith shop on Glen Street into an adult-use marijuana dispensary.

The Post Star reports The Ronald McDonald House is converting the former law office of the late Lake George attorney, Howard Krantz, into a space of rest and relaxation. It is the first retreat for the Ronald McDonald House, and it will offer five-day vacations for families year around. They hope to start welcoming families in July.

Tractor Trailer Driver Charged With DWI After Northway Exit 25 Stop
State Police in Chestertown arrested 46-year-old Sergey Lisitsin of Westfield MA, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor. At approximately 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to the area of Exit 25 of the Northway southbound for a report of a tractor trailer that was driving erratically. Upon locating the truck, the trooper observed it almost collide with another vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Sergey Litsitsin, the trooper could smell the odor of alcohol and observed signs of impairment. Lisitsin was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, and he was taken into custody.

DEC Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced that $450,000 is now available in the first round of the State’s new ‘Regenerate NY’ Forestry Cost Share Grant Program. The grant program is designed to assist private landowners growing the next generation of forests, which are crucial for mitigating climate change, providing wildlife habitat, protecting air and water quality, and supplying an important renewable resource.

The 2020 economic impact data, prepared by Tourism Economics and released by the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism today shows the impact on the State and a breakdown by County. Cape May County experienced a decline in direct tourism expenditures of 21.1%. The smallest decline statewide.

Whitehall Man’s Trial Underway
The trial is underway for a Whitehall man who police say had sexual intercourse with a child younger than 13. 35 year old Kenneth Reed of county Route 12, faces charges of predatory sexual assault against a child, a felony, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
