State Police in Queensbury arrested 31-year-old Curtis Z. Ball of Glens Falls, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. State police responded to a report of a vehicle off the shoulder of I-87 northbound in Lake George. Upon arriving at the scene troopers located Ball with the vehicle and observed signs of impairment. Ball refused to complete the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. A search of the vehicle revealed that Ball was in possession of approximately 26.8 grams of methamphetamine.

Hannaford Issues Cooked Shrimp Recall
Hannaford Supermarkets, like the one in Queensbury, issued a recall for certain private label cooked shrimp because the shrimp has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Officials say affected products may have been purchased between March 15, 2021 and June 26, 2021 and that customers should not eat the product and may return it to the store for a full refund.
Lake Luzerne Man Drowns In Saratoga County
A drowning in Saratoga County is under investigation. Police say 46-year-old Will Bennett of Lake Luzerne was last seen Saturday jumping from rock ledges beneath the Rockwell Street Bridge in Hadley. People in the area attempted to rescue Bennett but unfortunately were not successful.
Trolley Deal Struck
Trolley service has been restored, thanks to a $40,000 agreement between Greater Glens Falls Transit and CDTA. Officials say under the agreement, approved Tuesday by the Glens Falls Common Council, the Albany-based transit system will send at least one driver north a day to operate the trolleys which will allow the transit system to run a full schedule this season to places like Lake George.
Bridge For Sale In Warren County
Warren County is looking to sell the Middleton Bridge over the Schroon River. The span has been closed since 2009 due to major deficiencies and the county wants to replace it. Anyone who has interest in buying the bridge needs to show how they intend to use it. It was built in 1896 and connects Warren County Route 10 and East Schroon River Road in the towns of Warrensburg and Bolton.
NY’s State Of Emergency Ends Thursday
New York is lifting more COVID-19 restrictions when the state of emergency expires Thursday, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo. New Yorkers will still have to wear masks on public transit, hospitals, nursing homes, correctional facilities and homeless shelters, in accordance with federal guidance. But Cuomo’s announcement Wednesday means public meetings, for example, no longer must occur virtually.
Man Charged After Riding Dirt Bike On Sidewalks In Queensbury
State Police in Queensbury arrested 23-year-old Kevin J. Spartley Jr. of Hudson Falls, for Reckless Endangerment, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and other counts in connection with an incident in which he was allegedly riding a dirt bike on sidewalks on Aviation Road in Queensbury. After eluding authorities for a time, troopers ultimately was tracked down hiding in the back seat of a vehicle around the Montcalm Apartments.

Challenger Debra Runyon won the GOP nomination from Thurman Supervisor Susan Shepler in Tuesday’s primary, while Warrensburg Supervisor Kevin Geraghty held off a challenge from former Warren County Sheriff Bud York Tuesday. The Post Star reports Runyon received more than three times as many votes as Shepler — 56 to 18, according to unofficial returns.
Teen Arrested After Police Pursuit
State Police in Queensbury recently arrested 19-year-old Faya L. Toure of South Glens Falls, for Reckless Driving, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Endangerment and other counts. Toure is accused of leading troopers on a vehicle chase down State Route 9 in Queensbury on the evening of June 1, 2021. Troopers attempted to stop Toure after he was seen driving a dirt bike without any license plates on the state road. Toure refuse to pull over and a vehicle pursuit was initiated but was called off a short time later. Troopers located Toure on June 17, 2021 as he was dropping the dirt bike off at a storage facility in Moreau. Toure fled on foot upon and was found a short time later by assisting patrols.
Granville Man Found Dead After Motorcycle Crash
Police say a Granville man was found dead on the side of a road after being reported missing Friday. 63 year old Lawrence Feola had been on his motorcycle on State Route 149 from Granville to Hartford. At some point, the friend noticed that Feola was no longer in sight and became concerned. The friend alerted authoritieis and the search later located Feola deceased near Lily Pond Road. No word what led to the crash.
