Small Plane Overturns On Lake George

A pilot suffered minor injuries when a plane overturned on Lake George on Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say a Challenger 2 Ultralight entered the water, close to Squirrel Island between Garden River First Nation and Echo Bay, at about 3:30 p.m.
A nearby boat picked the pilot up and brought him to shore. He was taken to hospital. The plane is still in the water.

Police Say Fort Edward Shooting Was Gang Related

Three people were injured in a shooting Monday night at a home in Fort Edward, the result, say police, of a feud between motorcycle gangs. The Post Star reports the shooting took place just before 11 p.m. at a residence at 219 State Route 197.
The three victims fled the scene and were dropped off separately in private vehicles at Glens Falls Hospital. No word on suspects or arrests.

Latest Warren County COVID Stats

Warren County Health Services confirmed 19 new COVID-19 cases and seven recoveries on Wednesday, adding up to a current case total of 142 cases. WTEN reports 11 coronavirus cases were hospitalized as of Wednesday, including two considered in critical condition. Nine of Wednesday’s new cases originated from a coronavirus outbreak at a county nursing home. All residents at the nursing home were fully vaccinated.

Progress At Warren County Airport

More good news at Warren County Airport — work has resumed on the new building to house snow removal equipment. The project stalled for a few months because of material shortages, but with work resuming in recent weeks, the building is expected to be ready in time for the upcoming winter.
Airport Manager Robin Mapp also reports the newly opened aircraft hangars are filled.

Latest Warren County COVID Numbers

Warren County confirmed 25 new COVID-19 cases and six recoveries on Tuesday, bringing the county’s active case total to 130 cases. WTEN reports it’s the highest the count has been since April 11, continuing a month-long surge.
Ten positive cases were hospitalized as of Tuesday. That’s another notable number, the highest Warren County has seen since Feb. 2.

24 New COVID-19 Cases In Washington Countty

Washington County health officials report two dozen new COVID-19 cases since last Thursday bringing the total active case count to 60. Among the new cases are 3 people who are fully vaccinated and those individuals are experiencing what where called minor symptoms. 7 people remain hospitalized.

Washington County Posts Opioid Overdose Dashboard

Washington County has a new website where you can see the number of opioid cases so far this year. The numbers are organized by town and information is included on the drug involved and if an anti-opioid drug was used. 34 overdoses are recorded in 2021 resulting in 6 deaths.

Chopper In Argyle Crash Was ‘Amateur-Built’

FAA and NTSB investigators say the helicopter which crashed in Argyle on Saturday killing both occupants was determined to not have been commercially manufactured. WNYT reports the chopper was built from a kit by Craig Seeley. He and his daughter Katie were on board. An initial report is expected by the end of the month.

Cambridge Man Charged With Child Sexual Assault

Felony charges are brought against a Cambridge man after an investigation determined he had sex with an individual under the age of 11. State Police say the man assaulted a total of 3 victims. He is due in court on Thursday. Investigators say there may be more victims.

Postal Service Extending Transit Time For Some Mail

Starting in October some of your mail could take a little longer to arrive. The Postal Service issued a public notice last week announcing one to two days are being added to the service standard for certain First-Class Mail and Periodicals. Officials say 61% of first class mail will remain at current standards.
