Warren County COVID Numbers

Warren County Health Services confirmed 74 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, as well as 25 recoveries. As of Wednesday, the County was monitoring a total of 414 active coronavirus cases. Seven of Wednesday’s cases involved residents of a nursing home, the remainder stemmed from community spread. Twenty-three cases on Wednesday were among residents already fully vaccinated for coronavirus.

Four Alarm Fire In Glens Falls

A four-alarm fire broke out on Horicon Avenue in Glens Falls. WNYT reports the call came in around 6:00 Wednesday night.
The fire is in a residential neighborhood. A LifeNet helicopter was called in from Syracuse. No word on a cause or whether there were any injuries in the blaze.

Warren County COVID Vax Clinics

Warren County Health Services will hold the following free COVID-19 vaccination booster/first dose clinics in the coming days.
• Tuesday, November 9, Warren County Municipal Center Human Services Building from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson first doses and boosters available.
• Friday, November 12, Johnsburg Central School, Pfizer booster doses, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• Tuesday, November 16, Warren County Municipal Center, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. vaccines to be determined.
• Friday, November 19, Warrensburg High School, times and vaccines to be determined.

Public Input Sought On Shoreline Septic System Inspection

Warren County officials are seeking public opinion regarding a proposed shoreline septic system inspection law via two public hearings and an online survey, and they urge county residents to participate. The Sun Community News reports the first of the two public hearings is to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17 in the Lake George Town Hall at 20 Old Post Road during a meeting of the county’s Septic Inspection ad hoc committee.

Lake George Chamber Honors Warren County Administrator

Warren County Administrator Ryan Moore was honored recently by the Lake George Regional Chamber of Commerce for his work in boosting the area’s tourism despite the recent challenges and financial stresses of the pandemic. Sun Commiunity News reports he received the Chamber’s 2021 STAR award, at an Oct. 21 banquet, for his work and advocacy efforts which helped generate a record year for tourism.

New Website For Kids’ Vax Info

Gov Hochul has announced the launch of a new website, clinical guidance and additional information and resources in the effort to vaccinate New York State’s 5-11-year-old children against COVID-19. As part of these efforts, this comprehensive program includes a robust education campaign that builds upon the #GetTheVaxFacts campaign launched last week. The new website ny.gov/Vaxforkids for parents and guardians includes new information, frequently asked questions and answers, and resources specifically designed for parents and guardians of this age group.

Greenwich Man Arrested For Grand Larceny

State Police in Greenwich arrested 37-year-old James T. Erhardt of Jackson for Grand Larceny.
In July of 2021, State Police received a complaint from a Cambridge resident who recently discovered that there was $2,600 in cash missing from their safe. Following an investigation, it was determined that Erhardt, who was known to the victim, had access to the safe and had removed various sums of money on different occasions. Erhardt was placed under arrest following an interview with investigators.

Warren County Reports COVID Death

Warren County Health Services reports an additional COVID-19 fatality involving a Warren County resident. An individual in their 50s who lived at home before becoming ill passed away at a hospital.
This person had not been vaccinated, and had a history of health issues. Health Services reported 25 additional COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. Ten (10) of Wednesday’s cases involved individuals who had been fully vaccinated.

Boil Water Order In Fort Edward

A boil water order has been issued for parts of the Village of Fort Edward. The Washington County Department of Public Safety said the water department is working to repair a water line break. The order is in effect for King Edward Knolls, Drifting Ridge and Water District II users. Water District II covers Route 4, south of the village to Blackhouse Road, including Brenton Lane. It also covers Durkeetown Road west of Drifting Ridge to Route 4.

Holiday Festival of Lights Returning To Lake George

The Holiday Festival of Lights will be back in Lake George this season. According to the Post Star it will happen along Canada Street from Nov. 27 to Dec. 31. Visitors and local residents alike can get in the holiday spirit by enjoying decorated storefronts on Canada Street and a huge light display in Shepard Park, all for free. There will be free family-friendly live music, dance performances and entertainment on Dec. 4, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18 in Shepard Park from noon to 4 p.m.
