COVID is sidelining the Adirondack Thunder ice hockey team in Glens Falls for the time being. WNYT reports the team was supposed to play the Newfoundland Growlers in a three game home series, but symptomatic players, coaches, trainers, and front office members all tested positive for COVID. They’re hoping to make up the games, and release info to ticket holders in the coming days.

Whitehall Man Facing Slew Of Counts In Tool Theft
State Police in Granville arrested 33-year-old Jesse J. Tyrell of Whitehall for Grand Larceny, Criminal Mischief, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.
A November 4th, a homeowner reported that Tyrell had stolen approximately $3,000 worth of tools from the property. Tyrell had then contacted the victim and agreed to return the tools if the victim would pay him $1,000. Tyrell took off when police got there but was later apprehended.
Another COVID Death Reported In Warren County
Warren County Health Services reported an additional death from the COVID-19 virus on Tuesday. This individual was in their 70s and lived at home prior to being hospitalized with the virus and passing away. The person was unvaccinated, according to the county report. Public health officials are encouraging residents to take advantage of the reopening of the mass vaccination site at Aviation Mall in Queensbury.

Unvaccinated Warren County Resident Dies Of COVID
Warren County Health Services confirmed the death of an unvaccinated county resident resulting from COVID-19 infection on Monday. The resident was in their 70s, and had been hospitalized. On Monday, the county confirmed 26 positive coronavirus cases, as well as 12 recoveries. The county is monitoring a total of 550 active cases.
Homeowner Assistance Fund Announced
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Monday that $539 million was approved by the federal government to assist in with an all-new state-based Homeowner Assistance Fund. The governor said this program is a first of its kind in the U.S. and that New York was the first state to receive this kind of federal funding. The New York State Homeowner Assistance Fund (NYS HAF) is a “federally funded program dedicated to assisting homeowners who are at risk of default, foreclosure or displacement as result of a financial hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Report: Glens Falls Man Serves Seven Days For Punching One Year Old Son
A Glens Falls man who punched his 1-year-old son in the stomach was sentenced recently to 15 days jail and served seven. According to WNYT, 31 year old Dayton Cross was charged with misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child after the boy’s mother, Jessica Sullivan, saw Cross slam down the infant and punch him in the abdomen area on July 17.
The toddler was not seriously hurt, which resulted in the misdemeanor charge.
Warren County Booster Vaccine Clinic
Warren County Health Services has opened registration for its next booster/first dose COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Tuesday, December 7, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Warren County Municipal Center’s Human Services Building, 1340 Route 9, Queensbury. Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available, but quantities are limited. This clinic is for those 18 and up, and registration is required.
You must be at least 6 months past the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or 2 months past a single shot vaccine to be eligible for a booster.
