On the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, the Saratoga-Warren-Washington Progressive Action group will hold a vigil at Centennial Circle. The Post Star reports everyone will wear face masks and will be socially distant outdoors for the vigil. Organizers say the event will be non violent.

Another COVID Related Death In Warren County
Warren County Health Services reports an additional COVID-19 death involving a Warren County resident. A person in their 50s died at a hospital. This individual lived at home before becoming ill, and had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health Services reported 157 additional COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, highest daily total of the pandemic.
Man Crashes Into Queensbury Home
The Warren County sheriff’s Office says that alcohol is believed to be a factor in a Sunday night crash. WRGB reports investigators say deputies responded to a crash at around 10:15 PM on January 2nd. There they found that a SUV, driven by 35-year-old Jeffrey Sawyer, had struck a home on Ridge Road. Sawyer was taken to Glens Falls Hospital with minor injuries.
Latest Warren County COVID Numbers
Warren County Health Services reported 118 additional COVID-19 cases on Monday, along with 95 recoveries. Health Services is monitoring 882 active COVID cases as of Monday, 860 of them involving mild illness.
Fourteen (14) Warren County residents are hospitalized as of Monday, unchanged from Sunday. Three (3) patients are critically ill and the remainder have moderate illness. Seven (7) are moderately ill outside of a hospital, and one (1) is critically ill outside of the hospital.
Three (3) of the critically ill are unvaccinated. Overall, 11 of the 14 who are hospitalized are unvaccinated.

Two Charged In Queensbury Counterfeit Currency Cases
State Police in Queensbury arrested 21-year-old Desirea LaRock and 20-year-old Carl E. LaRock, both of Hudson Falls. The pair was arrested following two investigations into the use of counterfeit currency. One on December 27th at the Walmart in Queensbury, the other the next day at Glens Fall National Bank in Queensbury after one of the suspects was identified by the bank.
Omicron Numbers Grow In Warren County
Warren County Health Services reporots an additional COVID-19 death of a Warren County resident. The resident was over the age of 100, died at a hospital, and had not been vaccinated. Officials said the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has confirmed the COVID-19 Omicron variant was responsible for three recent Warren County COVID positive tests over the past 13 days, the earliest of them from a test sample that was taken December 16.
Glens Falls Man Arrested For Trying To Hook Up With Teen
A Glens Falls man is accused of trying to meet someone who he believed was a 15-year-old boy for sex near Myrtle Breach. WTEN reports 58 year old George Lamar was arrested December 26. Lamar is accused of meeting with the boy and had intentions to take him to his camp site to have a “sexual encounter.” Lamar reportedly matched with a “decoy” minor on Grindr who said he was 15 years old and Lamar sent a photo to him.
Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center Getting Make Over
The Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center will be getting a facelift. WNYT reports the hotel in Lake George will be undergoing a $3.5 million renovation. Phase one is already underway. That includes 36 annex guest rooms, a new kitchen, and building an expanded outdoor three-season porch. The existing guest rooms will also be getting touched up.
Warren County Ties Single Day COVID Case Number
Warren County Health Services confirmed 97 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, as well as 62 recoveries. That 97 new case total is tied for the highest number of new cases the county has ever seen in a single day. Thirteen cases were hospitalized as of Tuesday, including four who were in critical condition. Three of the critical cases were among unvaccinated residents, as were 10 of the 13 total hospitalized cases.
