Police Say Queensbury Man Violated Protection Order

A Queensbury man was arrested on April 28 after police said he violated an order of protection. According to the Post Star, state police said Jason R. Bradway, 39, got into a physical altercation with the victim during a domestic incident on April 24. Bradway was located four days later in the town of Queensbury. Bradway was charged with felony first-degree criminal contempt and misdemeanor second-degree harassment.

Walk-ins are allowed for plates and vehicle registration Renewals with a pink Envelope. License plate surrenders can still be done at the secure drop box outside the DMV office.

CDPHP Cycle Up And Running

CDPHP Cycle will kick off the 2022 bikeshare seaso kicked off Wednesday. Warren County is getting 12 more bikes for 2022, as well as a new rental station located at Crandall Park in Glens Falls. Bike rental hub locations remain Glens Falls City Hall, Glens Falls Hospital, as well as Sprinkles Ice Cream Shoppe, along Warren County Bikeway in Queensbury, and on Beach Road in Lake George.

Large Brush Fire In Lake Luzerne Sunday

DEC rangers responded to a large brush fire in Lake Luzerne on Sunday. The call came in at about 6pm and six fire departments also responded. The fire happened in and around a forest near Glens Falls Mountain Road. According to the DEC, the fire covered 75 acres of private property and no structures were damaged.

Funding To Help Regenerate NY Forests

(DEC) has announced $750,000 in funding is now available for the second round of the state’s “Regenerate NY” Forestry Cost Share Grant Program. The grant program is designed to assist private landowners in growing the next generation of forests, which are crucial for mitigating climate change, providing wildlife habitat, protecting air and water quality, and supplying an important renewable resource. A third of the total available funds ($250,000) is specifically earmarked for tree planting projects that will establish new forests or supplement the regeneration of existing ones.

Free Household Hazardous Waste Event Registration Now Open

Registration has opened for Warren County Department of Public Works’ next FREE household hazardous waste collection event on Saturday, August 13 at Queensbury Highway Department. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Warren County residents will be able to safely dispose of materials such as antifreeze, pesticides, latex and oil-based paints, household cleaners and fluorescent light bulbs at no cost. Register online at warrencountyny.gov/residents/waste.

Some Warren County Intersections Going To ‘All-Way Stop’

The Warren County Department of Public Works will be converting traffic control at the following intersections to “All-Way Stop” control effective Wednesday, May 18:
• West Mountain Road and Luzerne Road
• West Mountain Road and Aviation Road
These changes will require motorists coming from each direction at these intersections to stop before proceeding through the intersection. They are being made in order to improve the safety of the road system and reduce the likelihood of future crashes at these intersections.

ADK Unite Wages Fight Against Hunger

ADK Unite is continuing its effort to fight hunger this year, with a goal of raising $12,000 for area food pantries. The challenge runs through the month of May, with participants able to choose a route suggested by the ADK Unite website, or fashioned out of the participant’s choice. Registration is at bikeadirondacks.com under the Signature Events menu, and participants can sign up as an individual, or part of a community team or business.

Warren, Washington Counties Team Up On Youth Services

Warren and Washington counties are combining forces to improve the services to youth offered in Warren County at a time when there is an increasing need.
Warren County has contracted with Washington County to assume administrative duties for the Warren County Youth Bureau, which will result in significant additional programming for youth being available for Warren County residents.
