State Police in Queensbury arrested 30-year-old Alex A. Strivale of Ballston Spa for Criminal Possession of a Narcotic Drug. They responded to a report of an unconscious person in a vehicle parked on a property off Coolidge Ave in the town of Queensbury. A trooper arrived and woke the occupant of the vehicle and identified him as Alex Strivale. Strivale had backed into and damaged a wooden fence on the property and was found in possession of approximately 6.1 grams of suspected crack cocaine. He was taken into custody and transported to SP Queensbury for processing.

Two Area Solar Projects Snare Funding
Governor Kathy Hochul today announced awards for 22 large-scale solar and energy storage projects that will deliver enough clean, affordable energy to power over 620,000 New York homes for at least 20 years. Among the projects being funded Fort Edward Solar Farm: Fort Edward Solar LLC, a Boralex affiliate, will build a 100-megawatt Solar facility in the towns of Fort Edward and Argyle, Washington County and Easton Solar Farm: Easton Solar LLC, a Boralex affiliate, will build a 20-megawatt Solar facility in the town of Easton, Washington County.
Deadly Crash The Result Of Medical Emergency
Police now say a man killed in a Queensbury crash suffered a medical emergency. WNYT reports the crash happened early Saturday morning in a wooded area near the Econo Lodge off Aviation Road. The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says 60-year-old George Zura from Warrensburg was killed.
Two Charged In Queensbury On Drug Counts
In Queensbury, two people are facing charges after police said they found drugs in their vehicle. State police responded to the parking lot of Building 1 on Burke Drive in Queensbury on May 25 at about 5 p.m. to check on a vehicle in which two people were sleeping. Police say they found . 31-year-old Rachel M. Cenate, of Glens Falls, 30-year-old Erik C. Shepard, of Fort Ann and several bags of suspected heroin.
Granville Man Dies In Motorcycle Wreck
At approximately 7:42 p.m. on May 29, 2022, the New York State Police in Granville responded to a fatal motorcycle accident on State Route 4 in the town of Whitehall. Preliminary investigation has determined that 24-year-old Erik D. Nelson of Granville was operating a 2011 Ducati motorcycle south on State Route 4 when he failed to negotiate a turn. Nelson drove across the northbound lane, off the eastern shoulder and struck a guiderail. He was declared deceased at the scene.
Man Shoots Himself During Standoff With Police
A man is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after an eight-hour standoff with police. WNYT reports Police say they responded to a home on Meadow Road Saturday night and found 59-year-old David Greenwood in a backyard, after he locked his girlfriend out of her own home. Police say Greenwood fired at officers about 10 times during the standoff, which came to an end when Greenwood turned the gun on himself.
Student Suspended For Asking About Bringing Gun To School
A seventh grader at Hudson Falls Middle School is suspended after allegedly asking if he could bring a gun to school. According to The Post Star, court documents say the student asked the question during class the same day as the Uvalde, Texas school shooting. When his teacher questioned him, the student allegedly replied “it would make my life a lot better.”
Man Dies In Rollover Crash In Queensbury
A 60 year old man is dead after his car flipped over in the Town of Queensbury Saturday. WNYT reports the Warren County Sheriff’s Office said the man did not realize there was a slight curve near Carlton Drive and d drove into a wooded area, hit a few trees, and his car flipped over near Greenway North. He was tended to by rescue personnel but died at the scene.
Lake George Visitor Interpretive Center Now Open
DEC has announced the opening of the new Lake George Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) at 75 Fort George Road in Lake George. The new facility will enhance the visitor experience at DEC’s Lake George Battlefield Park and also serve as the new headquarters for the Lake George Park Commission. DEC’s construction on the new building began in June 2020, and is part of the 2018 Amendment to the 1981 Lake George Beach and Battlefield Park Unit Management Plan (PDF). It was funded with $1.1 million from the State’s Environmental Protection Fund (EPF).
Queensbury Man Cops To Child Sex Abuse Charges
A Queensbury man admitted on Wednesday to sexually abusing a child over the course of at least three years. According to the Post Star, Zachary A. Mead pleaded guilty in Warren County Court to first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child.
The guilty plea had halted jury selection in a trial before Judge Robert Smith that began on Monday and was expected to last about two weeks.
