An alcohol compliance check was held in Warren County recently. During the initiative 22 businesses were checked for compliance. Two people were charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the First degree, a class “A” misdemeanor, after selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21. Illegal Gun Found During Traffic Stop In Washington County
An illegal gun was found in a car stopped in Washington County on Monday evening. WNYT reports the car was pulled over for traffic violations on State Route 4 in Fort Ann around 9:45 p.m. 23 year old Michael Eggleston, 23, of Northumberland, a passenger, is now charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Besides the gun, an illegal high-capacity magazine was found.
Lake George Mayor Honored With Day In His Name
Lake George Village Mayor may be serving his last few weeks in office after 52 years as mayor, but Warren County wouldn’t let him go out without an honor. The Post Star reports the Warren County Board of Supervisors on Friday declared March 17, 2023, “Mayor Bob Blais Day” in tribute to the mayor, who is leaving his post as America’s longest serving active mayor.
Warren County Supervisors Vote On ARPA Funds Allocation
The Warren County Board of Supervisors held its monthly full board meeting for March and approved $460,000 in American Rescue Plan Act grants to five organizations, including three first responder agencies, The Salvation Army and Warren County Historical Society. Six Flags Great Escape Resort is holding its annual job fair on March 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Six Flags Great Escape Human Resources building at 33 Round Pond Road, Queensbury. Fort Edward Couple Charged With Grand Larceny
State Police in Greenwich arrested Mark A. Hafner II, 37, of Fort Edward, NY, and Megan A. Hafner, 37, of Fort Edward, NY, both from Grand Larceny. On October 19, 2022, at about 7:00 p.m., Trooper received a complaint that a General Contractor stole money meant to pay subcontractors. The investigation determined the victim hired “Property Pro Builders LLC.” for work on a home in Fort Ann, NY. The company is owned and operated by Mark Hafner and Megan Hafner. The Hafners withdrew funds from a construction loan meant to pay subcontractors for completed work but failed to fully reimburse them, which resulted in the couple keeping over $45,000.
Glens Falls Wants Input On Noise Ordinance
The Glens Falls Building and Codes Committee is seeking comments and concerns regarding the city’s noise ordinance from both residents and those who work within the city of Glens Falls. The Post Star reports lawmakers say they want to make sure

Warning About Tick Borne Disease
A warning as we head into the spring season. WNYT reports the CDC says Babesiosis, a tick-borne disease that can be fatal in rare cases, is becoming more prevalent in the Northeast. It can be more severe than Lyme Disease.
Symptoms include fever, chills, sweats, headaches, body aches, nausea, fatigue or muscle and joint pain.
Job Fairs In Warren County
There are three job fairs coming up for summer work – the first is at Queensbury High School Monday. WNYT reports that one is followed by an event at Lake George Junior-Senior High March 30th and a third at Glens Falls High on April 5th.

On Thursday, local medical care organization Nearcare announced that it will be closing its doors, according to WTEN. For the last 40 years, the organization – formerly known as Caritas – provided free support to those living with severe or terminal illness in Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties, as well as their families.
