A Glens Falls man is facing second-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a woman in Schenectady. Police were called to 927 State Street for reports of an unresponsive woman in room 121, where 49 year old Renee Stratton was declared deceased shortly after EMS arrived. 40 year old Corydon R. Carlton of Glens Falls was charged with second-degree murder and is currently in custody at the Schenectady County Jail.

Cambridge Man Arrested For Having Ghost Gun
Troopers arrested a Cambridge man for allegedly possessing two ghost guns on Wednesday. Troopers said Cian S. Nolan, 22, was charged with second and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon along with traffic violations. WTEN reports Nolan was injured in a car crash on Route 372 in Jackson on Thursday, July 18, and police found an unserialized loaded handgun and illegal high-capacity magazine in the vehicle.
Hundreds Rally To Keep Great Meadow Open
Hundreds of people gathered in Fort Ann Sunday to rally to save the Great Meadow Correctional Facility. WNYT reports the prison is one of the largest employers in the Town of Fort Ann and is set to close on November 6th. People who work at the prison are worried if they will be faced with the decision to either move or lose their jobs.
Warren County Receives $400K To Improve Septic Systems
A new round of funding for Warren County is on the way for the county to improve its septic systems. According to WNYT, the county recently received $400,000 from New York state to help property owners in places like Schroon Lake, Brant Lake, Trout Lake and more. They’ll be eligible for grants to use toward replacing their septic systems or upgrading parts of their existing systems.

Fort Edward Man Killed In Crash
Authorities are continuing to investigate a July 31 crash that claimed the life of a Fort Edward man. Wednesday, there was a 911 call reporting a car vs. log truck accident on Route 8. Authorities said Tyler J. Sellingham, 28, of Fort Edward was operating a 2003 Honda Accord eastbound on State Route 8 when crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2025 Peterbilt tractor-trailer head-on. He died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
One Injured In Northway Crash In Warren County
A person was taken to the hospital after a rollover crash on the Northway in Warren County. It happened in the southbound lane on I-87 near Exit 22 just before 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, according to The Post-Star. The condition of the person injured at this time is not clear. They were taken to Albany Medical Center. The crash is under investigation.
Music Festival To Raise Money For The Krantz Cottage
Seven prominent regional bands will perform during the Rockin’ for Ronald festival scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 4 in Lake George’s Shepard Park. Sun Community News reports the annual festival raises money for the Krantz Cottage Family Retreat home in Lake George, which serves as a vacation retreat for families of children afflicted with serious illnesses. The Krantz Cottage is operated by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital District.
