Learning About Lake George History
The Lake George Battlefield Alliance is hosting another event on local history this summer. This July, visitors can take some time to learn about the history of the Queen of American Lakes – and those who have lived there. WTEN reports a Wednesday, July 5 program entitled “A History of the Lake George Area & The Nations Who Called It Home” will be held at 7 p.m. at Fort William Henry Hotel & Conference Center.
Murder Mystery Returns To Lake George
Every year, the Lake George Holiday Inn Resort hosts something special, other than some of the thousands of visitors who pay the region a visit during the summer. “Shear Madness,” a murder mystery set in Lake George itself, opens with the murder of the landlady above the fictional Shear Madness Salon. The audience will take its own role in the fun, by helping deduce who the killer is. WTEN reports the show opens on Thursday, July 6, with showtimes running until Saturday, Aug. 26th.
Warren County Woman Charged With Evidence Tampering
Warren County Sheriff’s Office deputies have charged a 28-year-old Morrisonville woman with felony-level tampering with physical evidence. On June 21 at about 3:20 p.m. the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible person on probation tampering with a drug test. Investigators from that office allege that the probationer, Ashley Parrott, had tried to alter evidence associated with the test. Parrott was released after being processed and has been ordered to return to Queensbury Town Court at a later time for further court action.
New Interactive Display At Lake George Visitor
The Lake George Visitors Center, located on the corner of Canada Street and Beach Road, is launching the 2023 summer season with a new, interactive display that explains that Lake George Association’s (LGA) science-based solutions to problems, such as the invasive species, road salt and excessive nutrients, that threaten the lake. The Lake George Examiner reports the Center provides visitors information about local businesses, events and activities in the region and, with a series of wall panels, illustrates Lake George’s history.
Operation Food Chain Returning To Warren County
Warren County Department of Workforce Development announces that Operation Food Chain is returning this summer as part of Warren County Summer Youth Employment Program! Three local youth will be working under the supervision of Chef Matt Young to prepare and distribute free lunches to those 18 and under.
Meals will be served from July 3 (one week from today) through August 18 at the East Field Pavilion in Glens Falls, Monday-Friday, from 12-12:30 p.m.
South Glens Falls Man Facing DWI Charges After Crash With Son In Car
On June 17, 2023, Troopers arrested 42 year old Daniel E. Breeyear of South Glens Falls, NY for DWI, Aggravated DWI with child 1st, and endangering the welfare of a child. An investigation determined Breeyear, and his 7-year-old son were traveling south on State Route 9N when the vehicle left the roadway striking trees. When Troopers arrived on scene, evaluated the individuals, no one was injured. While interviewing Breeyear, an odor of alcoholic beverage was detected. Troopers administered sobriety field tests which Breeyear failed.

Man Disarmed In Parking Lot Of Washington County Law Enforcement Center
A man was transported to a hospital for evaluation after reportedly going to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with a loaded firearm Friday. WRGB reports the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call shortly before 9 p.m., advising them that a male subject was in the parking lot of the law enforcement center. Responding deputies located the man, and were able to make contact with him. Deputies de-escalated the situation without incident, and recovered the firearm, which they confirmed was loaded.
Queensbury Man Pleads Not Guilty To Attempted Murder
42 year old Christian Maldonado of Queensbury, pled not guilty to one count of second-degree attempted murder and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. WTEN reports according to the indictment, Maldonado attempted to cause the death of another individual in the area of Lark and Orange Streets. At that time, Maldonado possessed an illegal, loaded firearm. Maldonado was remanded and is due back in court on July 14.
