Efforts are continuing to restore service at St. Peters’ Albany Memorial campus after a burst pipe caused massive flooding in the facility on Friday. State Police arrested a Fort Ann man on August 1 following a burglary investigation. Casey Gregory, 33, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges. Troopers responded to the Northway Inn in Queensbury on August 4 State Police said Gregory allegedly forced entry into a hotel room with a weapon demanding money from the victim before fleeing. Gregory was found hiding in a nearby hotel room with a knife before being arrested.

A controversial herbicide put in the Lake George water eliminated an invasive species, according to Warren County environmentalists.The chemical ProcellaCor killed water milfoil. The conservation district said a video shows the milfoil plants brown and deteriorating and the native plants thriving. The chemical was applied in June, after pushback and a lawsuit from the public opposing its use.
Phillippe Petit recreates high wire walk
Fifty years after his iconic high-wire walk between the twin towers of New York’s World Trade Center, Philippe Petit, now 74, recreated the death-defying stunt Thursday with a performance at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Petit said he wanted to celebrate the “glorious days of the twin towers” rather than focus on their tragic end in a terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001.
Glens Falls man’s murder trial moved to County Court.
The Glens Falls man who allegedly murdered Renee Stratton at the Imperial Motel had been dating the victim before her death, according to the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office. Corydon Carlton, 40, was arrested on Aug. 2 in connection with Stratton’s death on July 21 at the 927 State St. motel. Carlton’s case has been moved to County Court.

Input Sought On Warren County Bikeway
The Warren County Planning Department is developing a modernization and connectivity plan for the Warren County Bikeway and are seeking input from the public and users of the Bikeway, and the project team Wednesday sought feedback on the existing Bikeway conditions as well as future improvements that local users would like to see. Th Post Star reports the study will assess the existing conditions of the trails and provide recommendations for improvements to meet current design standards.
