The Washington County District Attorney’s Office says that Peter Lemery pled guilty to arson following an eight unit apartment fire in Hudson Falls. WRGB reports the Hudson Falls Police Department say that on October 3 at around 8:00 p.m., fire crews responded to 11 Maple Street in Hudson Falls for a structure fire. According to police, it took crews 7 hours to fight the blaze. Lemery will be sentenced October 20th.

Monahan Court Appearance In Shooting Death Case
Kevin Monahan, the man accused of killing 20-year-old Kaylin Gillis in April after she and her friends drove up the wrong driveway, appeared in court Thursday. WRGB reports attorneys on both sides went before the judge for what is called a Huntley hearing to decide whether what Monahan said on the night of the shooting to the officers would be used during the trial, which is set for October 30th.
Preparedness Month Focused On Seniors In Warren County
September is National Preparedness Month, and Warren County Office of Emergency Services is urging residents to make sure they are ready to respond when emergencies occur, with this year’s campaign focus on the community’s older residents.

Report: Lake George Water Supply Can Handle Residential Construction
Lake George Village’s water system has more than enough capacity to service the five to six hundred new residential units expected to be constructed in the Town of Lake George within the next few years. The Lake George Mirror reports that’s the conclusion of a technical study conducted by C.T. Male of the system’s current condition, of the upgrades necessary if the plant’s capacity is to be increased and the cost of those upgrades.
Accused Washington County Killer In Court Thursday
A hearing will be held Thursday in Washington County Court to determine if statements made by the man accused of shooting and killing 20 year old Kaylin Gillis of Schuylerville will be suppressed. WNYT reports attorneys for Kevin Monahan are requesting that the court exclude statements he made to police on the night of the shooting on April 15th, the night he allegedly fired two shots at vehicles that had turned down his driveway , one of which struck and killed Gillis.
Complaints Of Kids And Crimes In Glens Falls
Complaints of juveniles in Glens Falls verbally accosting drivers, gathering in the Park Street Parking Garage, and fighting has the Glens Falls City Police Department busy. The Post Star reports an assault at Downtown City Tavern on Tuesday, Aug. 22 remains under investigation after adults at the restaurant on Elm Street attempted break up the fight among juveniles.
Queensbury Man Faces Drug Counts After Traffic Stop
State Police of Queensbury arrested 22 year old Gaven M. Wasson of Queensbury on drug charges. Late last month, Troopers stopped a vehicle on I-87 in Queensbury. The driver was identified as Wasson. Wasson was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. Multiple felony-weight controlled substances, an illegal quantity of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia were discovered in Wasson’s vehicle.
Car Shows Coming To Lake George, Queensbury
This September, two sets of annual traditions kick off on the same weekend. The Adirondack Nationals Car Show comes to Lake George from Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 7-10. A day after the start of Lake George’s car show, Glens Falls has its own turn. The annual Adirondack VetteFest Weekend comes to the Queensbury Hotel from Friday to Sunday, Sept. 8 to 10.
Amtrak Resuming North Country Service
Amtrak is again resuming train service on the Adirondack line through the North Country, with a tentative start date set for Monday, Sept. 11. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the rails between New York City and Montreal have been closed since late June, after only being open for three months following a nearly three-year shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic. Throughout the summer, trains from New York City ended in Albany, while stations in Plattsburgh, Ticonderoga, Port Kent, Westport and Port Henry and did not get service.
Woman Involved In Schroon River Crash Identified
The deceased driver of a 2006 Subaru that crashed into the Schroon River and overturned Saturday night has been identified. Sun Community News reports Kaitlin Goldberg was reported missing by family members who became concerned after she failed to meet up with them for a family camping trip and was also unreachable at her Altamont home.
Police say the 23-year-old was the lone occupant of her vehicle when it went off East Schroon River Road probably sometime in the evening of Sept. 2. Investigators now believe Goldberg’s car had been in the water for about 24 hours before being discovered Sunday afternoon.
