Court Appearance Delayed For Sena Abduction Suspect

The man accused of kidnapping a 9-year-old Saratoga County girl will not be in court Friday as was originally scheduled. WNYT reports the court-appointed attorney for Craig Ross Jr. asked for an adjournment. The case has been rescheduled for Nov. 21 at 11:30 a.m. in Milton Town Court. Ross is being held in the Saratoga County Jail. Where he is on constant supervision.

HAB’s On Lake George Found Not To Be Toxic

Last month, three harmful algal blooms (HABs) were spotted on Lake George. They’re far from the first to leave pea-green blotches on the Queen of American Lakes – but they’re farther up the 32-mile water body than researchers have seen previously. WTEN reports the Lake George Association has confirmed that the blooms had not been found to be toxic in their makeup.

Officer Who Arrested Sena Kidnapping Suspect 24 Years Ago Reacts

The man accused of kidnapping 9 year old Charlotte Sena was arrested for a DWI in 1999 and the officer who made the arrest says it’s wonderful that something which happened 24 years ago helped save the little girl. That arrest was made by Saratoga Springs Police Officer Kristen VanWert. Fingerprints taken from suspect Craig Nelson Ross that day were used to tie him to Charlotte’s abduction.

Suspects, Ages 10 And 12, Accused Of Vandalizing Hudson Falls Water Department

Two suspects ages 10 and 12 both face felony charges, accused of breaking into the Hudson Falls village water department, and doing thousands of dollars in damage. WRGB reports on September 26, at approximately 7:15 A.M., the department responded to a reported burglary at the Village Water Department located at 53 Ferry Street, where they found that the exterior of the Water Department building had been spray painted and the windows had been smashed.

The ‘Clean Water Safe Roads’ campaign encourages responsible salt application practices for households, businesses, and municipalities in the Adirondack region. Both residents and visitors to the area can learn about the ways road salt can contaminate nearby water bodies, harm aquatic life, and damage cars, bridges, and drinking water.

No Injuries In Argyle House Fire

No one was hurt in a fire at home in Argyle on Monday. Firefighters from 10 area companies responded to 822 McDougal Road at about 7 a.m. for a reported structure fire. WNYT reports there is no word about a cause. One person is being helped out by the Red Cross.

Accused Charlotte Sena Kidnapper Makes Court Appearance

A Milton man made his first court appearance on charges that he kidnapped 9-year-old Charlotte Sena. According to WNYT,47 year old Craig Ross Jr., 47, was arraigned for allegedly abducting Sena from Moreau Lake State Park Saturday evening.
He has been charged with kidnapping and was taken to Saratoga County Jail without bail. Ross Jr.’s next court date is scheduled for October 17 at 10:30 a.m.

Halloween Decorations Prompt Fire Call At Glens Falls Home

A call to a reported house fire on Sanford Street in Glens Falls over the weekend turned out to be something else– just in time for the Halloween season. The home has decorations that looks like a massive fire in the windows. WRGB reports the home will be lit up on Friday and Saturday nights through the end of the month.

Fall Book Sale At Crandall Public Library

The Friends of Crandall Public Library are hosting a fall book sale on Friday, October 20, and Saturday, October 21. The book sale runs from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. WTEN reports adult books cost $1 each. Books for kids and teens cost four for $1. Patrons are asked to bring their own bags.

Authorities Say Ransom Note Lead Them To Missing 9 Year Old, Suspect

Authorities say a ransom note with a fingerprint on it played a key role in helping to find 9 year old Charlotte Sena, who had gone missing Saturday evening while camping with her family in Moreau Lake State Park. That note lead authorities to both Charlotte and the suspect in her disappearance, 47 year old Craig Ross, Jr., a mailman who lives on Barrett Road in Milton. Both Charlotte and the suspect were found in a trailer behind the home there. Authorities say Charlotte was unharmed.
