Glens Falls Man Accused Of Welfare Fraud

A Glens Falls man is accused of welfare fraud. 33 year old James Dudley allegedly didn’t report all income that he and another person in the household earned, reports WNYT. Between October 2021 and September 2022, Dudley allegedly obtained $5,721 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits that he was not entitled to, police said. He was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and released on his own recognizance pending a future court appearance.

Free Tick Removal Kits To Be Handed Out In Warren County

Warren County NY Public Health educators will be on hand at two popular local trailheads later this month to hand out free tick removal kits and distribute educational materials detailing the local health threat from tick bites.
Look for them Thursday, May 16 at Cole’s Woods in Glens Falls (Fire Road entrance) and Thursday, May 23 at Hudson Pointe Nature Preserve on Hudson Point Bulevard in Queensbury.

Queensbury Man Charged With Having Sex With Minor

Following an investigation into an incident that reportedly occurred in 2020 in the town of Greenfield, a Queensbury man was arrested Thursday, accused of sexual intercourse with a minor. WRGB reports 25 year old Logan M. Andreadakis of Queensbury, is accused of engaging in sexual relations with a then 14-year-old female who was known to him.

Lake George Man Admits Sending Explicit Pics To Minor

A Lake George man has admitted to sending sexually explicit images to a minor. WNYT reports 20 year old Leon Carney was arrested in June after police said he sent indecent material through a social networking app to a girl under the age of 13 who lived in Saratoga County. He is due to be sentenced July 10.

10 Year Old Dies In Wednesday House Fire In Whitehall

A 10-year-old fourth-grader died Wednesday in an early morning fire, according to a letter posted on the Whitehall Central School District’s website from Superintendent Patrick Dee. WNYT reports the fire happened around 5 a.m. at 5 Maple Street and that there were reports of people possibly trapped. The Red Cross is now helping 10 people affected by the fire.

Exhibit Could End Up In Old County Courthouse In Lake George

Dismayed by the estimated $1 million cost of renovating a house to host the planned Joseph Warren museum, Warren County officials discussed situating an exhibit of paintings depicting Warren — a founding father of the U.S. — and artifacts related to his life — in the Old County Courthouse in Lake George, at least temporarily, reports the Sun Community News.

Local Entities Receive Grant Money

Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced that more than $3 million has been awarded for 64 projects that will protect water quality, prevent farmland conversion, boost public access for outdoor recreation, and conserve open space. Locally, Lake George Land Conservancy receives a Capacity Grant of $27,600, for stewardship and resource management, Adirondack Land Trust: Stewardship and Resource gets a Management Grant of $100,000 and The Nature Conservancy, a Catalyst Grant worth $82,000.
