In a 6 yes to 2 abstention vote, the Lake George Park Commission approved contractor SOLitude Lake Management to add a herbicide to the lake. WTEN reports the chemical is called ProcellaCOR, and it’s being used to manage a pest called Eurasian Watermilfoil. The vote occurred Tuesday Morning at the North Queensbury Volunteer Fire Station on Route 9L.

Warren County has added a free online tool known as “Waste Wizard” to the county website, an easy-to-use search bar that will quickly give residents answers about whether a material can be recycled or tossed.

Glens Falls Man Charged With Selling Crack
A Glens Falls man was arrested for allegedly selling crack cocaine. Dustin Dashnaw was selling the drugs from a home on Vanderheyden Street, reports WNYT. Dashnaw was caught after investigators say they bought drugs from him several times as part of an undercover operation. He was arraigned and released, pending a future court appearance.
Warren County Honors Fallen Service Members
Warren County’s Memorial Day parade got in just before the rain started. WNYT reports the Glens Falls Queensbury Parade went off without any issues as the community came together to honor fallen service members. It stepped off Monday morning from the Warrensburg Volunteer Fire Company and ended at Saint Cecilia’s Cemetery.
DEC Urges Drivers To Give Turtles A Brake
DEC is reminding New Yorkers that turtles are nesting in May and June and encourages motorists to ‘give turtles a brake.’ In New York, thousands of turtles are killed each year by unsuspecting drivers when turtles cross roads to find nesting areas.
Drivers who see a turtle on the road are encouraged to slow down to avoid hitting it with their vehicle. If the vehicle can safely stop and drivers are able to safely do so, motorists should consider moving the turtle to the shoulder on the side of the road in the direction it was facing.
National Grid Work Starts Tuesday In Glens Falls
The city of Glens Falls has announced that National Grid will be working on the natural gas system in the areas of Glen Street, Fire Road, and Webster Avenue. WTEN reports the work will begin on Tuesday and take approximately 3 weeks to complete.
Granville Man Facing Drug, Weapons Counts
33 year old Robert Gimmler III from Granville is facing multiple charges that include driving while under the influence of alcohol, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon, according to Mechanicville Police.
WNYT reports Gimmler was arrested after police received a call for suspicious activity in the area of 77 South Central Ave. Friday morning, police said.
Volunteers Clean Up Monument Trail
A crew of volunteers recently spruced up the trail to the Col. Ephraim Williams Monument that sits between Warren County Bikeway and Route 9 in the town of Queensbury. The monument is erected on the rock where Colonel Williams was shot dead when he attempted to rally his forces after an ambush during the French and Indian War on the morning of September 8, 1755.
