A&E Network is not planning any programming centered around convicted Kaylin Gillis murderer, Kevin Monahan. WNYT reports in an email to Kaylin’s father, Andy Gillis, the network said, “A&E has no plans to produce any programming based on this tragic case.”

Foster Parents Meeting Next Week

Warren County needs foster parents, and Warren County Department of Social Services has scheduled new training classes for foster parents starting next week. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, Warren County Department of Social Services will hold training classes at Warren County Human Services Building on Tuesday evenings, starting June 11.

Leaks Located, Fixed In Greenwich

The leaks in the Village of Greenwich water system have been fixed, the tank is replenishing and the request for water conservation is now lifted. However, the splash pad will remain closed until Friday to allow the water tank to fully replenish. The search for the leak started last weekend, prompting those restrictions.

Traffic Light Changes In Glens Falls

The Glens Falls Downtown Revitalization Initiative is completing streetscaping work near South and Elm Street, which will replace the traffic light at the intersection with a four-way stop. On Thursday, city officials said the traffic light would blink red until it was removed on Friday, June 7, reports WTEN.

Meeting To Discuss SUNY Adirondack Budget

The Warren County Board of Supervisors will hold a joint meeting of its Personnel and Finance & Budget committees on Friday, at SUNY Adirondack, to discuss the state of the college as well as hear its 2024-25 budget presentation. This will also be a joint meeting with Washington County Board of Supervisors.
This meeting will be held at SUNY Adirondacks’ Bryan Hall at 640 Bay Road, Queensbury.

Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway Temporarily Closed

DEC announced the temporary closure of Prospect Mountain Veterans Memorial Highway near Lake George. The DEC stated that the closure stems from safety concerns due to the footing of the granite retaining wall at the mountain’s summit having slipped loose. WTEN reports the highway will be closed to traffic through June 6 while crews work to stabilize the wall

POW/MIA Ceremony Held In Lake George

More than 100 people participated in the 55th annual P.O.W./M.I.A. ceremony held June 2 atop Prospect Mountain in the town of Lake George, honoring U.S. soldiers who were held prisoners of war or were declared missing in action. Sun Community News reports veterans, military personnel, civilians, and leather-clad motorcyclists participated in the services, which were officiated by Paul Sears, Commander of North Creek’s American Legion Post 629.

Warren County Jury Finds Man Guilty In Armed Robberies

A Warren County jury convicted a Gansevoort man for robbery and attempted robbery on Monday, reprots WTEN. 28 year old Joshua M. Heym was found guilty of gunpoint robberies in January 2023. Heym pointed a handgun at victims in three robberies on Larose Street in Glens Falls between Jan. 10 and Jan. 12, 2023, and stole a small amount of money during each of them.
