Warren County Health Services reported four (4) new Warren County resident COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday morning, along with seven (7) additional recoveries.
One (1) individual is hospitalized, unchanged from Tuesday. The lone hospitalized patient is critically ill.
Health Services staff are monitoring 55 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday. 54 of these cases involve mild illness.
All of Wednesday’s new cases involved members of the community. Two (2) were quarantined at the time they tested positive, having had documented exposures beforehand.

Clinic Doles Out J & J Vaccine
They gave out 68 doses of 80 total of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at a clinic Tuesday at SUNY Adirondack in Queensbury. The rest went to homebound residents who had said no to the two-shot vaccines in hopes of getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine eventually.
Queensbury Developer Says There’s Verbal Agreement For Glens Falls Project
Glens Falls has reached a tentative agreement with Queensbury developer Chris Patten that will see a commercially zoned parcel at the corner of Glen and Bay streets preserved as green space and a new apartment building constructed along Union Street. Patten plans to build an 18- to 20-unit apartment complex along Union Street, directly behind 425 Glen St., which is home to 32Fit Gym and Heritage Apartments.

Great Escape Looking For Workers
Great Escape is offering additional incentives for workers who apply this week. The Post Star reports anyone who is hired by Sunday will get a Gold Plus membership, which they can also give to three family members, and the membership offers free admission and parking to all Six Flags outdoor parks. The park is offering $15 an hour for some positions, including lifeguards. The park pays for training.
New Program To Make Drinking Water Safer
DEC and the state Department of Health have announced a new initiative to assist municipalities with assessing and supporting drinking water source protection programs. As part of the Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2), up to 40 volunteer communities will work with technical assistance partners to develop programs that proactively protect public drinking water supplies.
School Budget Details In South Glens Falls
The South Glens Falls Central School District is proposing a budget for 2021-22 that would raise the average tax bill by about $17. The Post Star reports The $64 million budget increases spending by about $4 million. Also, the budget would reduce staff by two elementary teachers and one special education teacher, all by attrition, and the addition of a human resources director.
Search For Fishermen Who Likely Saved Two Boys From Drowning
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is looking to identify a fisherman who rescued two young boys on Cossayuna Lake Sunday. Two boys, both 10 years old, were kayaking on the lake, when one of the boys fell off his kayak and into the water. They say the boy was not wearing a life jacket. The other boy tried to help, and the child who fell in was able to hold onto the other kayak and stay above the water. A fisherman nearby heard the kids yelling for help, and he or she was able to safely bring them back to shore.

Warren County NY Public Health will hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic Tuesday, May 4, at SUNY Adirondack open to anyone 18 and older offering the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine. This vaccine is the one-shot vaccine. Sign up through a link on the Warren County Facebook page.

One (1) individual is hospitalized, two (2) fewer than Sunday because of two (2) discharges. The lone hospitalized patient is critically ill. Two (2) with moderate illness are not in the hospital.
Health Services staff are monitoring 54 active COVID-19 cases as of Monday. 51 of these cases involve mild illness.
The last date that Warren County’s daily active caseload was as low was December 2, 2020, when there were 50 active cases.
