Pair Arrested For Alleged Washington County Fairgrounds Theft
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of two people after a theft investigation. Octavian Dudley, 18, of Watervliet, and Tyreem Gardner, 20, of Ballston Spa, were both charged with third-degree attempted grand larceny. WTEN reports Dudley and Gardner are accused of attempting to steal a maintenance cart valued at more than $3,000 from the Washington County Fair Grounds on August 20.
Lake George Chamber’s Restaurant Week Starts Sunday

Queensbury At-Large Councilman Censured
The Warren County Board of Supervisors has censured one of its members for not disclosing a financial interest in a business that got federal grant funding. WNYT reports Brad Magowan, a Queensbury at-large supervisor, is a contractor and did not disclose his business relationship with a company that was awarded ARPA funds.
Man Driving Over 100 MPH Arrested For DWI Near Lake George
A Staten Island man is accused of driving over 100 mph on the Northway while drunk. WNYT reports 54 year old Ernest R. Castagna was going 103 mph between Exit 22 and Exit 23 in Lake George early Wednesday. A breath test revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11%, which is over the legal limit of 0.08%.
Castagna was charged with DWI.
Environmental Advocates Offer Info On Lake George Herbicide Effectiveness
Environmental advocates released new details about the impacts of an herbicide that was added to parts of Lake George. WTEN reports the Lake George Association said the herbicide, known as ProcellaCOR, removed an invasive species from parts of the lake, but it did not get rid of it completely.
They found the lake’s directional flow impacted how effective the herbicide was. They are also looking into whether the removal of the invasive species is causing algae blooms.
Queensbury Man Facing November Sentencing For Rape
A Queensbury man has admitted to raping a 14-year-old girl. According to WNYT, 25 year old
Logan M. Andreadakis pleaded guilty in Saratoga County Court on Friday to second-degree rape.
Andreadakis was arrested in May after he raped a girl he knew. It happened in the town of Greenfield in April 2020, according to police. Andreadakis is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 12.
Deadly Fire In Granville
A 75-year-old man is dead after a fire Monday in Granville. According to WNYT, State Police responded to a residence on County Route 21 at around 8:15 p.m. Troopers found the structure engulfed in flames.
The homeowner, Gene W. Bassett, was found dead in the residence after firefighters put out the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
