The State Department of Environmental Conservation is now selling hunting and trapping licenses along with Deer Management Permits for the 2021-2022 season. Purchases can be made at the DEC’s website, at any one of DEC’s license-issuing agents or by telephone at 866-933-2257. Licenses and permits are valid from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31 of next year.

Beware Of Fake COVID-19 Vaccination Cards
Attorney General Letitia James issued an alert to protect New Yorkers from the dangers of fake coronavirus vaccination cards. Legitimate CDC vaccination cards are provided to individuals once they receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Individuals are urged not to share pictures of this card online or on social media, or to at least blur out private information.
Argyle Helicopter Crash Results In 2 Deaths
Two people were killed in an Argyle helicopter crash on Saturday. State Police say Craig Seeley and his daughter Katie both of Argyle died when the chopper crashed in a wooded area off West Valley Road. No other injuries were reported and the crash is under investigation.
Mask Wearing Required In County Public Facilities
Now that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention labeled Washington County as a “substantial” threat for community spread of COVID-19 officials are now requiring mask wearing inside all county owned- or operated facilities regardless of vaccination status. More than 55% of county residents are vaccinated.
Argyle Man Charged with Illegal Possession of a Machinegun and Ammunition
Charges are filed against an Argyle convicted felon found to possess weapons and ammunition. According to federal prosecutors Daniel Day was taken into custody last Thursday after police searched his home. If convicted, Day faces up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and post-release supervision for up to 3 years.
DeRosa Resigns From Governor’s Office
Governor Andrew Cuomo’s top aide resigned late Sunday as her former boss faces impeachment over sexual harrassment allegations. Melissa DeRosa released a statement saying it has been the greatest honor of her life to serve the people of New York for the past 10 years. As secretary to the governor DeRosa held the highest appointed position in the state.
NY Launches Excelsior Pass Plus
New York unveils the Excelsior Pass Plus program which allows individuals to show they’ve received the COVID-19 vaccine or have a negative COVID-19 test. Officials say the enhanced program adds features to expand travel and commerce opportunities. Over 3 million passes were issued since the program was launched earlier this year.

Adirondack Balloon Festival Back For ’21
The Adirondack Balloon Festival is back for 2021 but it will be a bit smaller than in years past. Organizers say this year’s event will have 50 balloons instead of the 100 as before and there will be multiple launch sites in Warren and Washington Counties. This is the Festival’s 48th year.
Warren County COVID-19 Cases Continue To Climb
Warren County Health officials announce an additional 12 confirmed coronavirus cases on Thursday with 3 involving kids 12 and under. Over the last 8 days 16 children were confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. 3 of Thursday’s cases were in adults fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
