Americade Has Full Schedule In Lake George

2021 Americade is well underway in Lake George and if it’s COVID- affected you can’t tell by the packed schedule. Americade runs through September 25th after having been rescheduled from June.

Latest Warren County COVID Stats

New COVID cases in Warrent County in recent days have stemmed from workplace exposures, household exposures out-of-state travel and youth sports practices.
Seven (7) of Tuesday’s cases involved individuals who had been fully vaccinated. Cumulatively as of Tuesday, 377 of 42,998 fully vaccinated Warren County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 as the Delta variant continues to be the dominant coronavirus strain in New York.

Greenwich Woman Charged In Tool Theft

A Greenwich woman was arrested, accused of grand larceny. The Post Star reports 44 year old Melissa Colby is accused of stealing tools valued at more than $1,000. Colby was charged with grand larceny, arraigned and released.
She is due back in court at a later date.

Talking Gypsy Moths

On Thursday, September 23rd, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Warren County and the Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District will host a discussion on Gypsy Moth caterpillar infestation featuring Rob Cole from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Office of Forest Health.
Cole and Soil & Water Conservation staff will give a general overview of the problems these caterpillars can cause, and how property owners can safely address them this fall and next spring.

Lake George Man Charged With DWI

An early-morning traffic stop Sunday resulted in two felony charges and the arrest of a Lake George man. The Sun Community News reports 50 year old Todd Billeci, 50, was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated in the Town of Bolton. An investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at the scene determined that Billeci was intoxicated and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.16%.

Small Number Of COVID Break Through Cases Reported In Warren County

Three of Monday’s COVID cases in Warren County were among those already fully vaccinated for coronavirus. To date, 370 of Warren County’s 42,973 fully vaccinated residents have contracted the virus. Warren County Health Services is waiting for state guidance to begin booster clinics for the general population ages 65 and older, following clinics held for the immunocompromised in recent weeks.

Cambridge Woman Cuffed For Property Damage

A Cambridge woman is facing felony charges for allegedly causing more than $250 in property damage in July. The Post Star reports 21 year old Haley M. Martin was cuffed relating to a July 9th incident at a property located along Route 68. She was charged with criminal mischief, a felony, and will be back in White Creek Town Court at a later date.

Queensbury Teacher Suspended For Being Unvaccinated, Refusing Tests

A Queensbury Elementary School teacher is suspended for being unvaccinated and refusing to get weekly COVID-19 tests.
WNYT reports Joe Traina is on indefinite unpaid leave. The school says it’s following guidelines from the state Department of Health. Any school that violates the testing order could be fined $1,000 every day it’s not in compliance.

Ranger Rescue In Johnsburg

A ranger rescue in the Town of Johnsburg. DEC dispatch received a report of a 38-year-old hiker from Albany with an ankle injury on Crane Mountain in the Wilcox Lake State Forest. Forest Rangers responded, but due to the remote location of the rescue, NYSP aviation was requested. The hiker was hoisted into the NYSP helicopter, flown to a landing zone, and transferred to the Johnsburg Ambulance for transport to Glens Falls Hospital.

Argyle Man Busted For DWI, Driving Without A License

State Police in a Greenwich arrested 56-year-old Robert D. Carota of Argyle, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree and Driving While Intoxicated-Prior Conviction. Carota was stopped for a traffic infraction as he traveled down State Route 197 in the town of Argyle Saturday night. When the Trooper spoke with him, they could smell alcohol on his breath and observed signs of impairment. The Trooper attempted to administer the roadside sobriety tests, but Carota refused to complete them. A DMV check also determined that he was operating on a revoked driver’s license.
