Warren County Health Services reported 33 additional COVID-19 cases on Sunday, along with 38 recoveries. Health Services is monitoring 296 active COVID cases as of Sunday, 282 of them involving mild illness.
Twelve (12) are hospitalized, one (1) fewer than Saturday. One (1) is in critical condition and eleven (11) others have moderate illness. Two (2) others are moderately ill outside of the hospital.
Eight of Sunday’s cases involved individuals who had been fully vaccinated.

15 New COVID Cases Among Fully Vaccinated In Warren County
Warren County Health Services confirmed 45 new COVID-19 cases and 24 recoveries on Thursday. 15 of those new cases involve people who already fully vaccinated. As of Thursday, the county was monitoring a total of 298 active coronavirus cases. Seven of Thursday’s new cases stemmed from school campuses within Warren County.
Another COVID Death In Warren County
Warren County Health Services reports an additional COVID-19 death involving a Warren County resident. An individual who was in their 70s and lived at home before contracting COVID-19 died after a stay at a local hospital. This person had been vaccinated. Health Services reported 20 additional COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, along with 36 recoveries. Health Services is monitoring 269 active COVID cases as of Tuesday, 252 of them involving mild illness.
Warren County Sheriffs Deputies Holding Halloween Event
Sheriff’s deputies in Warren County will be in uniform and in costume this Halloween as they hand out more than $3,000 worth of candy to trick-or-treaters. WNYT reports Sheriff Jim LaFarr organized the event. The department is part of a program called Bigs In Blue that pairs deputies with children who could use positive role models.

Hiring for winter is picking up, with retailers gearing up for the holiday shopping season and our winter sports venues are gearing up for snow. Three major local institutions have organized job fairs in the coming days, including Aviation Mall which is holding a job fair from 3pm to 7pm Wednesday. There will be a number of area employers there including Glens Falls Hospital, GNC, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Planet Fitness and several others.
Baskets For Ben Fundraiser
The Ben Osborn Memorial Fund’s Baskets for Ben fundraiser will be held Oct. 29, 2021, at VFW Post #6196, 132 Luzerne Road, Queensbury, New York. The Sun Community News reports the was established to honor the memory of CPL. Benjamin Osborn. Osborn, a Lake George graduate, was killed in combat while serving in Kunar Province, Afghanistan with the U.S. Army and works with over 60 schools across Warren, Washington, Saratoga and Essex Counties to identify children with needs and offer support.
Another Death Due To COVID In Warren County
Warren County Health Services reports an additional COVID-19 death involving a Warren County resident. This individual was in their 40s, lived at home and did not have a history of significant health issues before contracting COVID-19. This person had not been vaccinated.

Special Olympics Fall Games In Warren County
The Special Olympics Fall Games are in Warren County this weekend wit nearly 1,000 special athletes who’ve qualified in their local competitions coming to town. The games feature seven sports, including softball, cycling, equestrian and golf. The games happen Friday and Saturday at five different venues with the opening ceremony at Cool Insuring Arena.

Historical Society Open House
The Warren County Historical Society, New York invites the public to their fall Open House on Saturday, November 6 from 11am to 2pm, at its headquarters on 50 Gurney Lane, Queensbury. “Toying with History,” the new exhibit, will be featured, and its creator Cindy Whitman will offer a hands-on experience for children in making historical dioramas.
The authors of the Society’s two new publications will be on hand to sign copies of their books
