KN95 Mask Availability

Warren County has received an additional allotment of KN-95 masks, and they have been placed at Warren County Municipal Center’s Department of Motor Vehicles entrance and Human Services Building entrance (1340 Route 9, Queensbury). The doors are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The supply should last at least through this week.
In addition, quantities have been distributed to town leaders around the county, so those who are not able to get to the Municipal Center should contact their local Town Hall.

Latest Warren County COVID Numbers

Warren County Health Services staff reported 320 additional COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, along with 86 recoveries. Health Services is monitoring 1,622 active COVID cases as of Wednesday, 1,605 of them mildly ill.
Nine (9) Warren County residents are hospitalized as of Wednesday. Two (2) patients are critically ill and the remainder have moderate illness. Eight are moderately ill outside of the hospital. Eight of the nine (9) who are hospitalized have been vaccinated.

Two People Found Dead In Washington County Home

The deaths of two people in Washington County are under investigation. According to WNYT, the victims, a 66-year-old man, and a 74-year-old woman, were recently found inside a home on County Route 64 in Salem. Police say the home was 30 degrees at the time of the discovery but hypothermia is not believed to be the cause of death. The exact cause of death remains unknown.

Man Sentenced In Deadly 2019 Northway Crash

The man who sped away from state police and then caused a fatal crash on the Northway will spend 15 years in state prison. WNYT reports Skyler Crouse was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to manslaughter and assault. Crouse was driving more than 100 miles per hour right before he crashed into a truck near Exit 25. The truck driver, Joseph Turcotte, was killed. Turcotte was a popular area boat builder.

Lake George EMS Up And Running

The town of Lake George kicked off the new year with the opening of the newly formed Emergency Medical Services department. Last year, taxpayers voted in favor of the formation of the town’s own department over contracting an existing department to assist the town in the case of medical emergencies. Before that, the town relied on a nonprofit squad to respond to emergencies.

Latest Warren County COVID Numbers

Warren County has reported 159 new COVID-19 cases and 195 recoveries since Sunday. There are currently 1,379 active cases in the county. Twelve residents are hospitalized as of Monday.
The county said the surge in COVID cases in recent weeks appears to stem from workplace contacts, household contacts and indoor events. As of Monday, 3,231 of 47,253 fully vaccinated Warren County residents have tested positive for COVID.

Woman, Dog Rescued After Falling Through Ice On Lake George

Sheriff’s deputies in Warren County say a woman and her dog fell through the ice on Lake George Monday morning. WNYT reports the dog fell first, and his owner went after him. Deputies were able to get them both to shore, and they did not need medical help. Police remind civilians to never attempt a ware rescue yourself, but call authorities for help.

Board Of Supervisors Meeting Thursday

The Warren County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual organizational meeting on Thursday, The board is selecting a chair for 2022, and taking any other action that is required during this first meeting of the new year.

Another Death From COVID In Warren County

Warren County Health Services reports an additional COVID-19 death involving a Warren County resident. A person in their 70s died at a hospital. This individual lived at home before becoming ill, and had not been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Health Services reported 127 additional COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, along with 31 recoveries. Health Services is monitoring 1,084 active COVID cases as of Wednesday, 1,062 of them involving mild illness.

Hochul Delivers State of the State Address

Gov. Kathy Hochul outlined an agenda for an economic comeback from the coronavirus pandemic and new government investments in health care, housing and renewable energy in her State of the State address Wednesday. She spoke before a limited, socially distanced audience in the Assembly chamber at the New York State Capitol in Albany amid the worst surge in coronavirus infections since the early days of the pandemic.
